#0Wicked in May?
Posted: 4/7/04 at 11:32pm
Hi everyone,
I've been lurking around reading posts for a month or so, but just joined today.
Someone mentioned that Kristin will be away from WICKED in May ... does anyone know of those exact dates? Also, does Idina have any scheduled days off? (i'm a much bigger fan of Idina, but of course would like both of them to be there).
I was lucky enough to win front row seats in the rush lottery to WICKED about 3 weeks ago. It was a Sat. matinee and both 'stars' were there - no understudies at all. It was an amazing show, in so many ways. I absolutely love it. I know there are critics of it on the boards, but to each their own, right? :)
Anyhow, I'm going back up to NYC (from NC) in May - and have purchased a ticket to the show already. I'll be terribly disappointed if Kristin and/or Idina aren't in the show that night. It's a Saturday night, so perhaps there is a better chance that they will both be there? (or is that just my naivety? ha,ha). Well, here's hoping.
Thanks for any help,
Angie

Look for Laura Bell Bundy to perform May 3-9, 2004 while Kristin showcases her vocal talent in Candide.

From what I read, you'll be one lucky duck if Indina Menzel is not there the day you go to see it. I've read the most incredible reviews about Eden Espinosa, the understudy for "Elphaba."
If you have already seen the show with the original cast, pray to God you see the understudies.

Actually, I couldn't agree with you ... LESS. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Eden Espinosa is just fine in the role; however ... Idina Menzel is amazing - her voice alone gives me chills. I'll be one very lucky patron to see Idina perform again --> here's hoping. :)
Thanks to those of you that responded to my original question. I'm going on May 21st, so I'll be safe from Kristin's Candide absence.

I have Wicked tickets for May 8, and apparently KC will be out.
Can I get a refund? I've really lost interest in the show and this would be a good excuse to cash the tickets in.
Thanks.

Posted: 4/9/04 at 10:04amNormally they will refund your tickets if one of the actors billed above the title is out of the show, but since this absence was scheduled for awhile I'm not sure they will.

Speaking of "Wicked", how bad are the partial view tickets? Can you still see most of the show?

Personally I would love to see Kristin get slapped really hard with her neck brace on....I was so upset when I heard about it the first time, I wished I was one of the lucky people to have that oppurtunity....

Maybe its because I'm horribly bitter that she gets more publicity than Idina, whom I think is more talented.
Just my opinion though.

Posted: 4/9/04 at 4:13pmthat doesn't mean Kristin isn't talented. That's pretty silly of you to hold that fact that Kristen received better reviews than Idina against Kristen. I'm upset about it too, because I think Idina is more talented too. But...don't hold what is out of Kristen's hands against Kristen.

Posted: 4/9/04 at 8:25pmTo reiterate Joshua Eads question, how are the partial viewing seats? I've already purchased mine but I heard they're horrendous compared to the rush tickets.

Posted: 4/9/04 at 10:26pmPartial view seats are great! I sat there my first time, and you're in the front of the orchestra on the side. You do miss part of it, but you don't miss anything major. All your missing is part of the set and a few dancers (who are doing the same thing as the other dancers), and Kristen's technique both acting and singing is far superior to Idina's. Although, I only don't like Idina on a Broadway standard, in something even slightly less, she'd be amazing.

ok, I know this thread's been up for a while, but I'm just seeing it now, as I was away for a few days... and I know that this doesn't have much to do with the actual thread, but:
"Indina Menzel"
I keep seeing this, and it drives me CRAZY!
No offense, but come on people, it's IDINA.

as long as we're on spelling (which i have definite issues with too sometimes...) it's kristin not kristen
but thats not as awkward as "indina"
always,

Posted: 4/11/04 at 2:34pmWho gives a ****? Look, it's not that any of us don't know how to spell the names, it's that we don't proofread! If you're going to complain, than properly capitalize words and use good punctuation.

Posted: 4/11/04 at 2:42pmI could care less about things that are obviously typos. But speak for yourself. There are people who *consistently* spell names wrong. That's not a typing mistake, it's blatantly wrong. So what? It bothers me and it doesn't bother you. I don't care.

Posted: 4/11/04 at 2:47pmI can take the typos - GOD knows i have my share! But i thinks its a difference. Many people spell Kristin Chenoweth's name KristEn but thats not too bad b/c its still her name and pronounced the same way. If someone wrote Christine Chenoweth people would be like .. WHO? If someone wrote Idena thats not as bad b/c its pronounced almost the same way. Its just that if no one points it out other people might start thinking thats what her name is ya know? its a common misspelling so maybe here and now we can stop it.
