Awwwww, sweet! What a great way to introduce her to theatre. I'm sure it'll be an experience she'll never forget. We sat in the mezzanine and were able to see everything just fine, so I'm sure you will be able to as well. If you've never been to the Fox, it is a gorgeous theatre on the inside. I'm sure you'll catch yourself always looking up at first. Most people typically do.
I like theatres that have their own great attributes. I've been to theatres all around..now I just have to make it up to Broadway.

I plan on experiencing Broadway myself this coming spring, and couldn't be more excited about it! :)
I lived on Long Island for six months...I should of done it..I don't know why I didn't.
The lobby will stop you dead in your tracks. Sort of like going into a big old train station only better
Thanks..Does anyone know if Stephanie performed today?
i hope when she gets to florida she is healthy and amazing..
Well the amazing part she has covered, and hopefully these past few days she's been able to take care of the healthy part
Don't know about today cubbie, if I read or hear anything I'll let you know. I'd keep my hopes up for tomorrow if I were you... just think positive thoughts and enjoy the show no matter what happens.
Oh, I'll enjoy it either way. I just am a fan of Stephanie's and would like to see her. But if she's sick, she's sick.
I agree with the amazing thing :)
Cubbie, I don't know WHO posted it or HOW they got their information but someone on Maria's website said she was back in tonight so that means Stephanie is still out if this info is accurate.
"Whoever has not seen the fabulous Maria as Elphaba, go see Wicked tonight! She's back in the green skin again! And I've seen her as Elphaba! And she's amazing! Go see Wicked tonight! Go! Go!!!!"
I did see Maria once when they were in L.A. and she did in fact do the role justice!

Hmm..I've heard really good things about Maria too. Maybe they will split the shows tomorrow? Who knows. If Steph isn't there, that will of course make it easy to decide about stage dooring.
Aww..Maria seems nice. Her bio is cute and she answers a ton of questions on her Q and A.
I saw Maria do the role when the show was in Chicago. She did a good job, though I have to admit that I'd love to see Jenna do the role. I'd bet she'd be great!
What's all this talk about Stephanie. Ugh... couldn't take her.
But, she wasn't as painful as Derrick Williams. Don't get me started.
Justin - this thread has been buried for well over a week. You bumped it up just to talk crap about people? I don't get it.
I totally agree with Popular....And be prepared to be hearing a lot more "talk" about Stephanie because Honey, she's just getting started.
Yeah! I'm seeing Wicked tomorrow!! I hope everyone is in. I'm a little worried seeing as Sunday is closing night and it seems if a principal wanted to take a break they would do it before closing night. Fingers crossed.
AMEN! Preach on, Galilee, preach on... can I get a witness? :)
I'm seeing the show tonight also! Hoepfully, everyone will be on! I'm really looking forward to seeing Kendra and Stephanie after hearing all of the great things about them!
I saw the show last night and it has to be one of the BEST national touring shows I've seen. Though the sets were scaled back a little, they were still massive and intricate and worked perfectly. They fit very nice into the theme of the Fox Theatre. The lighting was also stunning, especially "Defying Gravity". I loved how it was a little different from the Broadway cast.
The cast was SUPERB! Stephanie J. Block was wonderful as Elphaba. You could tell that she was holding back her voice during Act 1, (though, only if you knew she had been sick) but by "No Good Deed", she gave it her all and belted.
Kendra Kassebaum made a great Glinda. Different from Megan Hilty (who I saw back in December when she was a standby), but she made the role totally her own and did things that made her even more hilarious. She had the audience in laughter throughout "Popular". (I don't know how many times she mooned the audience...) There were devoted fans after the show say that her "Popular" was the best they had ever seen.
The rest of the cast was suberb. Derrick Williams' voice was very soulful, David Garrison's Wizard was perfect, Carol Kane did a wonderful job as Madame Morrible, and Jenna Leigh Green's Nessarose was very strong (Wicked Witch of the East was the best I've heard!) The ensemble did a very nice job throughout the entire show, doing things that made each scene more enjoyable. Seeing the show a second time, I noticed so mmany things that I had missed before.
After the show, I waited after the show in the cold for about a half an hour before Stephanie came out, and she quickly signed and posed for pictures. About another half hour later, Kendra finally came out and signed programs and took pictures with everyone. It was a wonderful evening and I enjoyed every bit of it!
