Wicked recordings?

Do you think they will make a cast recording of the touring company or the original london company?? i know they made a recording of when the wizard of oz went on tour, and when godspell went on tour. i was just curious, because this is a pretty popular show, and im also positive that the cast recording was the most sold out of any other broadway show this year. i just think it might be a good idea.

I'd assume that they would because A.) like you said, its a popular show and B.) they want to keep the fans up to date on whos in the cast etc. But then again, they havent made any recordings of RENT except the original and thats a very popular show...

Thats true...wait, i think they made a recording of the london show...its just not very popular. i know its on ebay and stuff.

Did they really? Huh, does it have Anthony Rapp as Mark still? Because I knew he and some of the other OBC went to london for a while to reprise their roles....Whats the link to the CD?

ummm, let me see...i know my friend actually burned some of it. u can get some songs off of kazza sometimes.

i guess its whoever originated the roles over in london. i dont believe they sell it in the u.s. thats why its really hard to find. they make a karaoke cd of it too lol

the wizard of oz was a TOURING production. It wasn't a broadway production with a tour.

gospell was a COMPLETELY different and unrelated staging to the one that played Off-broadway.

So did they offically re-record the soundtrack in London or did they take songs from the recording in NY and put it on there since alot of the OBC is in the London RENT.

yeah, but they almost NEVER made when the tour is a reproduction company of a broadway production. they are only made for SOME independant tours.

yeah that is true. i was just curious because of the popularity of this show. i mean it did break box office records, and i know many people were following the tour info very closely. i wonder if the producers saw this. i mean it couldnt hurt

This site shows a lot of the recordings of different shows. RENT was recorded in Dutch, Korean, and a few other languages.

i dont know if its still on ebay. it was awhile ago when i saw it there...ummm u can try finding some of the songs on kazza or another music downloader. ill try them and see if i get anything.

no problem. if i cant, maybe there's a way to get his (meaning my friends) songs and download them. i think he only has the songs rent and seasons of love though

There is a possibility that a London cast recording will be made, but I highly doubt a tour recording.

ooo, wait, arent idina and kristin 'sposed to reprise their roles in london. if thats the case, i doubt it will be made. i just hope if one does come out, they include "the wicked witch of the east" on it. i just heard a clip of it, i love it!

Really? Kirstin and Idina are reprising in London? Probably not for a while though since Kristin is touring and Idina will be occupied with RENT til next fall.
