That's a different movie dumb-dumb.
Laura Bell could be possible depending on her country music success...
Ok the message board for that movie is hilarious. "Who's gonna play Elphaba?" "There are a lot of rip offs of Wicked" "This is nothing like the book Wicked"
People don't seem to understand that "The Wizard of Oz" came first.

Or for the fact that Wicked is NOTHING like any of the other Oz books.
I love Wicked in a way that I could NEVER love the Oz Chronicles. I view them as two entirely different ways.
"MAMMA MIA with an entirely new cast got rave reviews "
no, no it didn't. NINE flopped with an apparent "all star" cast. i really wish people would go to a musical for the score and the musical not who is in it. do you think Phantom would have been better or succeeded with a more well known hollywood cast?
"Also, many are assuming that stage actors cannot act on film. I agree that might be true"
-I don't agree. If you can conquer the stage you can do movies. there is nothing like live theatre to test your ability, and there is no "take two" on stage.
"MAMMA MIA got rave reviews?!
I happen to remember a particularly scathing NY Times review that said it was the worst movie of Meryl's career."
-well we know that didn't or wouldn't happen and she was nominated for awards and won one. GG or SAG or something? but you are right it did not get rave reviews.
I had this really bad feeling the other night watching 'idol' (it happens alot) that that screatching banchee Shobhan (i cant even remember how to spell it, sorry) could probably get cast as Elphaba, esp. if she gets far on idol, she has that 'look' for the part and seems to be popular and we all know how mych screatching goes on in Wicked.
