Wicked, first week in August

Hello!
Me and 4 other people are planning to go see Wicked in Chicago in the first week of August, and we have a few questions. Are the loge seats any good? Is the cast supposed to be in? Thank you in advance!

re: Wicked, first week in August

hey renthead92!
i have seen wicked three times in that theater and once in the lodge seats and honestly there isnt a bad seat in the house, it is still remarkable!! i mean you arent going to see spit coming out of their mouths but still you are not bad at all LOL..you will have a great time..if you wanna see where you are sitting go to ticketmaster and click on the cadillac theater to see your seats..also the cast should still be kristy cates as elphaba (she is AMAZING) Stacie Morgain Lewis (Glinda) Gene Weygandt (The Wizard) Heidi Kettenring (Nessarose) Telly Leung (Boq) and Kristoffer Cusick (Fiyero). Madame Morrible will change because Carol Shelly will be leaving shortly...but other than that you are set! i hope you have a GREAT time!!
p.s. click on the link for details!! xoxo

re: Wicked, first week in August

uuhhh....it's Loge...not lodge :)

and that's a great theatre...all the chicago theatres are very easy to get great seats in.

My favorites are the lottery seats of course, but Loge will be a good overrall view, especially if you haven't seen the show before.

Chicago has always had the best Wicked cast in my opinion (with the exception of a few tour members that are glorious), so whoever they get for replacements are sure to be fantastic :)

Enjoy!
and all that I could do because of you was talk of love...

re: Wicked, first week in August

Thanks both of you! We bought our tickets today. I don't know the exact spot, since I didn't buy them. But the person who did buy them said they're at the front of the balcony, so it sounds good. And now we're going at the end of August, so will the same cast still be there? Thanks in advance!

re: Wicked, first week in August

i am almost postive that the same cast except morrible will be there..i think that they all renewed their contracts recently, i actually had the pleasure of talking with kristy cates (elphaba) heidi kettinring (nessa) and kristoffer cusik (fiyero) earlier today at a benefit for wicked downtown, and from the looks of it, all three of them are staying for awhile so it seems, so there is a good chance you will get to see them, i really hope you do they are amazing!! and omg front row balcony is awesome that is where i sat the first time and it is great you get the full experience!! you'll have a great time!!

I think Rondi is coming back and that she was just "taking leave" to do a show at Steppenwolf which is why Carole was not here for very long. re: Wicked, first week in August

re: Wicked, first week in August

Just some more questions, where is the stage door located? Is there usually a large crowd waiting? Do they allow pics? How long is it before the cast usually comes out? Thank you!

re: Wicked, first week in August

I actually have not been to the stage door but I have many friends who have, and I believe it is located on the side of the theater towards the back. anyone else know for sure??
i know that photos are allowed, and autographs, and many of the ensemble memebers will talk to you about the parts and getting into the buisness etc. they are all extremely nice people. and unfortunatley there usually is a good size crowd waiting, mainly die-hard wicked fans, but it is a good expereiece from what i am told. if you go on a good night the cast will be out very quickly after taking off make-up and changing, sometimes it may take them longer depending on their mood (you know how tempermental actors can be) ha, ha just some acting humor.. but i am sure you will have an unforgettable experience! xoxo

re: Wicked, first week in August

The "Wicked" stage door is located north of the main entrance (toward the back of the building) in the alley. If you exit the main entrance, take a right, turn right on the corner that McDonald's is on (still the same street - you don't have to cross any streets) and then walk just a little ways you will see an alley. Head down there and there is a door, that is usually labeled "Wicked Stage Door". :)

The crowd size varies - sometimes there will be large crowds, sometimes not so much. Either way, in my experiences, most actors/actresses get to everyone who wants an autograph/picture.

They do allow pictures - I've never had any hesitation from the actors about taking pictures or signing autographs.

And the amount of time the cast comes out varies - some come out right away (I'd get to the stage door ASAP), and some may take longer. If it's taking a while for an actor to come out there is usually a security guard there that may give you info about whether they will be coming out or not (there have been times where there was a party, talkbacks, etc. that actors had to go to before coming out).

Any more questions feel free to ask - and enjoy your stage door experience, too! :)

re: Wicked, first week in August

Thanks to both of you! I'm really excited to meet Mahi Kekumu, since his friend was my director this summer for Alladin. I'm also excited, of course, to meet the rest of the cast. Thanks again!

re: Wicked, first week in August

It wasn't the musical, it was based on the book, with original music. "Alladin" Was produced by a very professional local touring company, Praire Fire Children's Theater, which tours around the MN, SD, and WI area. It's a lot of fun, and you meet tons of great people. Anywho, I got the part of Alladin. Go me! We live in Glencoe, MN, About 1 hour from the Twin-Cities.

re: Wicked, first week in August

Enjoy your trip! I didn't get paidre: Wicked, first week in August. In fact, we had to pay to be in it. But I should have, because I had to memorize 173 lines in one day. Not easy. Yes, we're driving to whole 6 hour drive. Fun, Fun, Fun! (Not) I've never been to Chicago before, but some people I'm going with have. It's gonna be great!
