Just for the record, this score, what I have heard of it, is INCREDIBLE. Idina and Kristin are amazing and I love the songs -- particulary 'Defying Gravity' and 'the Wizard And I' from Idina and 'Popular' from Kristin. I HAVE to see this show and I NEED this cast recording when it comes out!
After seeing the show last Sunday, I want the OBC recording, too! I loved the music. With three months before the show opens in NY, I'm hoping they'll record the album during that time.

Oh My God! Idina just blows the roof off with 'Defing Gravity'!
That number will only get stronger when they do it at the Gershwin with the larger sets and add in all of the flying.
Not to rush Idina out of the show, but when she eventually leaves, I can so picture Coleen Sexton in the role.

I SOOO can't wait to see the show either, and hear the music. Got my tickets for November..... 10th row center in the orchestra.
You have a great seat. If the staging is the same, there's a lot around the proscenium that can't be seen from seats too close to the stage. We were third row center orchestra (It was that or nothing!) and we had to strain our necks to see everything that was going on. As I watched the show, I was even thinking front mezzanine might be the best spot for visibility. Kristin is aloft a lot at the beginning and end of the show and again I was straining to watch her! Enjoy! You should love Wicked.

Definately, about 10-15 rows back in the orch. are good, but I want to get seats fron front row mezz. That will definately be the best view.

BroadwayGuy - we are definately on the same page. . I just told my friend the other day that Colleen Sexton would make a GREAT replacement for idina. Here's hoping someone hears us!

I could also see Kerry Butler as a future Glinda.
I LOVE Coleen. She is the bright spot on the Jekyll and Hyde video and the key reason I spent my money on buying it!

You mean you didn't get it to watch David Hasselhoff?!?!?!?!

I have a habit of fast forwarding to the Sexton numbers. Particularly "Someone Like You", "In His Eyes", and "A Nwe World".
I hope that Idina sings "Defying Gravity" for the Tonys next years. It also features Kristin -- a definate plus.

I got my tickets for October 31. Row A Centre section front Mezz. YAY!
Yes but a great MUSICAL is more than a great SCORE, just as a movie is better than a good screenplay or good director.
All the pieces have to fit in their place. Simply having some great tunes is merely one step toward making a great musical.

Thanks for the advice about seats. I tried Ticketmaster last Subday (the first day day of sale without AE) and was offered A6-8, so I passed, and tried again later, and then again just now and still the same A6-8 come up. The show sounds great, but now I think I'll wait around for discounts to come up.

yeah, the seats to get are the middle of the orch or first row of the mezz. there's so much going on and you certainly want a good view of it all.
as for premature tony's talk, Cheno is going to win her second featured actress trophy FOR SURE. my money's on Idina to win as well. YAY! only 11 months to go!

It won't be recorded until about the first week of November, after the show opens
Actually, I'm pretty sure both Kristen and Idina will be nominated in the Leading Actress category. Both of their parts are leads really. They take the final bow together. It will be hard to choose between the two come voting-time. The show is really special and I'm sure it will do FABULOUSLY! (Hopefully Norbert will get the Featured Actor nom!)

I beleive she has two solos, a few duetes, a trio or two, and then the larger numbners. I'm not sue because it keeps changing. They did say they were generally happy with the show and score so far.

Kerry Butler would make a good role at anything if it was sweet. She is so sweet!! :)
Kerry does sound a little like Kristin.
