I have searched endlessly for a detailed synopsis of LaChiusa's The Wild Party and cannot find one. I love the score but would love to figure out what the hell is going on. If someone could point me to a good synopsis of the show that would be wonderful. Thanks!
I adore both scores. Brilliant writring, brilliant theatre!
The best synopsis would be the source material itself. Most any Barnes and Noble should have a copy of Jospeh Moncure March's work. There's even an edition that's illustrated by Art Spiegelman. It's stunning.

The source poem is good, but not if you're trying to figure out the differences between the two shows, as both are based on the poem yet have somewhat different plots.

Is the original text of the poem online for free anywhere? I'd love to get the book but I'm broke and don't have the money to spend $20 on it.

The closest library that has the book is more than an hour away from my house. I'll just find it used on ebay or something. Thanks for all the help!
There's a book, the title escapes me at the moment, that has the text of Rent, Floyd Collins, The Wild Party, and Parade.
it's a GREAT buy and I always regret not buying it when I see it at the bookstore...
