the thing is, everyone didn't think so at all up to that point. i didn't really see anyone else saying they DIDN'T like lachiusa's version, but rather that they are very different and to make your own decision. 2 people said they preferred lippa but .. okay you can just read the post for yourself, i don't know why i'm reiterating it to you.
and please don't post private messages from other people to the board. no one is interested in them, i felt like i was snooping just by reading them. if they were meant to be for you, just keep them to yourself. if they had wanted that posted to the entire board, they would have posted it themselves. however my apologies to mr. lachiusa for flipping the i and u .. i'll never do it again :)

This has been a topic several times. I was bored with Lippa's score. LaChiusa's more appropriately reflects the period and tone of the poem as well as being a more sophisticated and unique score. Lippa's is more like standard showtunes that could be lifted and placed in a variety of shows.
PS - Posting PM's on the Message board in not cool. But then, I'm sure obnoxiousboundexpress is well aware of that. It would be nice if it was deleted.
