I don't know much about this show, but I did read a detailed plot summary online. The show just makes no sense. I just don't get it. Having nit seen the show I can't say anything about the actual production, but the storyline is just a trainwreck.

Obviously as a supporter of Wildhorn & the show, I can even say the biggest flaw is the book/plot/anything dealing with these.
The show's transformed a lot from earlier scripts, and it appears they may revert back to some of the original ideas.
The show in Tampa was a basic, pointless plot. Houston took it, made changes that made even less sense..
The plot is a train wreck. It's automatically given an up hill battle: There is no denying there will be the happy ending. Tampa used the book as clues for Alice to follow in her journey, but I believe Houston cut these. So then it was just a On to the next door type thing.
The story will apparently be vastly reworked for Broadway (and many changes have already been implemented). They apparently had the option to go right to Broadway last season, but the creators told the producers No, that they wanted to make it right first... Looks like they hopefully made the right decision.
Luckily, the score is in great shape (musically at the least when the lyrics fail).

^ If they rework the book, I think the show could be good. Its a fun idea and with the right music and story this could be a good show. I don't know anything about the show besides the plot, but I like the concept of alice returning to wonderland.

Honestly, if they are insisting on a Broadway opening, I think they should try it out of town with the "final" book and wait till next season.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."

Ah and so the twist continues... Don't be surprised if this becomes a "dream" concept though! In Tampa she was a descendent of Lewis Carroll (or Alice Liddell, I actually forget). (A concept I thought appropriate - there's no other reason for the connection IMO) Houston dropped this.
Wildhorn's score is a lot of fun. Murphy's lyrics are sometimes horrible to be frank, so I'm personally hoping he work on them.
I sincerly hope Dacal's return to In the Heights gave her the added experience to push into a STAR level. In Tampa I felt she was overshadowed by Darren Ritchie and especially Nikki Snelson who stole the show.
Dacal's reviews described her as "With a strong voice, great dance moves and flair for comedy, Dacal is a perfect fit for the role." They cut her big dance song ("Don't Wanna Fall in Love") and left her to dance in literally one other song. She's proven she's got the voice for the part (although occasionally sounding flat or strained - something that plagued Snelson as well).
I really do think this is a show you have to see to judge. Some shows can be passed off before, but I'm guessing the bulk of people will pass up the opportunity to see it just to trash on here nightly, as is accustomed with any thing Wildhorn has ever even touched.

I'd rather be molested than see a Frank Wildhorn musical of such awfulness...

^^ Exactly my point... the majority of you won't see this, but will base it off a pop concept album yelling about the orchestrations (which are done in pop style on purpose) or right off directing concepts because you base what you see on a :50 clip.
Kad:
They are trying it out of town. WONDERLAND returns to TBPAC for two weeks in January, before moving to B'way.

So Nikki Snelson was dropped because they decided on a different (less dancing) take on the role? Is this what I'm reading?
Faced with these Loreleis, what man can moralize!

Yes - Nikki was dropped in favor of a more sinister Hatter. I'm not necessarily sure if they intended it to be less dancing while casting (The Hatter has her "fembots" who are dancers - it appears many have been recast), but they certainly threw around some bizarre names. It appears they want a more evil, direct Hatter as opposed to the often funny, sarcastic Hatter that was Snelson (who was, as I said, the highlight of the show in Tampa along with Darren Ritchie).

^^ Let's see how it does in it's 2 Week Tampa Tryout run (following the dual World Premiere last year).
They've worked on the show A LOT. Lots of changes hvae been made, as obvious by some of the casting, but I don't think it's fair to judge until January when YOU/people see it in Tampa, or on Broadway (which we know the majority of the board will not see it, but just trash it).
Some fantastic music, particularly on Wildhorn's terms in here. The whole plot in general... we'll see!
Thanks for the pictures Anakela!

I don't think this is the full cast because I know at least one name that's missing
"All our dreams can come true -- if we have the courage to pursue them." -- Walt Disney
We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".

Casting has not been announced for Chloe.
I don't know the extent of it, but the role of The Jabberwocky has also not been mentioned. Some think there will be additional casting, but to my knowledge the majority of it is done!

Since it is a Wildhorn show, it has already been prejudged by the critics. It will fare no different than all of his other shows.

Surprisingly, Wildhorn's score didn't get awful reviews from the out of town tryouts. Mostly it was the book, which was (and most likely is still) utterly pointless (as the unfortunate that has to come with a modern adaptation).
The difference with Wildhorn shows is the fans: Will this be a J&H / Scarlet Pimpernel, or will it be a Civil War/Dracula, with no audience.
I actually question if the critics will be as harsh with this as they were with DRACULA, the musical in reference to the source material which some critics noted "Bram Stoker must be spinning in his grave" after that creative team changed the story to the way they wanted it.

I haven't heard that, Muhlethaler, but it wouldn't surprise me.
Even for Titus Burgess, the role is rather small. (Ironically, the original Caterpillar, Eugene Flemming, withdrew from the production within weeks leading up to the original premiere. Tommar Wilson replaced).
