When Cabaret opens, will Alan Cumming be eligible to win another Tony for the Emcee even though he's already got on for the same role?

It's been answered in other threads, but no, he is not eligible for a Tony.

In alphabetical order:

Kate Baldwin - Big Fish
Mary Bridget Davies - A Night with Janis Joplin
Sutton Foster - Violet
Marin Mazzie - Bullets over Broadway
Idina Menzel - If/Then
Jessie Mueller - Beautiful
Kelli O'Hara - The Bridges of Madison County
Courtney Reed - Aladdin
Krysta Rodrigues - First Date
Margo Seibert - Rocky (could go featured)
Michelle Williams - Cabaret
I am guessing that the "After Midnight" female performers will all go featured

Zach Braff - Bullets over Broadway
Norbert Leo Butz - Big Fish
Jake Epstein - Beautiful
Neil Patrick Harris - Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Dulé Hill - After Midnight
Adam Jacobs - Aladdin
Ramin Karimloo - Les Miserables
Andy Karl - Rocky
Zachary Levi - First Date
Jefferson Mays - A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder (I had to update the posting -- I can't believe I left him off the list -- my favorite musical performance so far this season)
Steven Pasquale - The Bridges of Madison County
Anthony Rapp - If/Then
James Snyder - If/Then

A lot of good choices (assuming that some of the shows yet to open will be good) and at least this shouldn't be one of those years when someone gets nominated just so they can fill a spot. Updated On: 12/18/13 at 12:16 PM

We don't know whether Marin Mazzie will be placed in leading or featured (I'm guessing leading because they won't want her competing with Betsy Wolfe, the person playing Olive, or the actress playing Eden. However, Dianne Wiest won the Academy Award for Supporting Actress, so there is precedent in petitioning her to featured.)

Dang the leading actress category is going to be interesting this year. Tons of good performances.

Will Alan just be repeating what he did in the 1998 revival or is he going for a new approach? Personally I think it's a mistake for him to do this revival of the revival if he doesn't add anything new to the character. No one likes to see a cookie cutter performance. That's what happened with the 2006 Les Mis revival and people weren't pleased.

I wonder could this be O'Hara's year to win a Tony... Wonder will Williams receive backlash because she's come from Hollywood...? Will be interesting for sure. I'm thinking Courtney Reed should go featured for Aladdin... Jasmine doesn't really seem or feel like a leading role.

It is obvious that Neil Patrick Harris will win the Tony, as a slap on the back for successfully presenting the Tonys.

Unless Andy Karl scores a TKO in ROCKY, I would agree that this is NPH's year.

Michelle Williams doesn't come from Hollywood...she lives in Brooklyn and is better known as an independent film actress than a movie star.

I don't know about Harris's chances-Jefferson Mays' show got brilliant reviews and he seems pretty popular in the community, we also don't know how Ramin Karimloo will be received. I think Harris has an excellent chance, but we don't know about a lot of these other performances yet.
