I know that it is not likely, but, do you think Alan Cumming will star in Cabaret again in the future? Also, could you see Roundabout "reviving the revival" once more?

I highly doubt it.

I think Alan said in an interview that this past revival was his last time as the Emcee. As for another revival, I'd say not until at least 2020 just because it was so recent and there might not be as much excitement or demand for it.

Do you think the next revival will be a reconcieved revival or another revival of the 1998 revival.

They're not going to revive the same production again. As perfect as it was/is, I think the next Cabaret we see on Broadway will be a new production.

I hope not.

I heard he won't be doing it, too. I saw him this past go around and it was great to finally see him in the role but I can't imagine him doing it ever again - nor do I think he wants to.
A while ago I saw a production in Cambridge, MA that was the 1998 revival but a little bit re-imagined (if memory serves correct). I've often thought about what it would be like if it were done in a modern setting but quite honestly I don't know if that would work or how it could be done (mostly depending on who would direct it, star, etc).

Kind of hard to do a story explicitly set in the Weimar Republic just before the Nazis took serious hold in the Thirties in a modern setting...

Cabaret is being done in Sydney at the Hayes Theatre with Paul Capsis as the emcee[Sally has not been announced yet] then hopefully it will move next year to Melbourne into The Athenaeum Theatre [seats about 900] whereas the Hayes 200[?]. Kelly Abbey is in charge of the choreography--looking forward to seeing this in Melbourne.
Have heard that there will be a different emcee for the Melbourne season.
Anybody know more?

How I wish! Missing out on seeing him before the show closed in 2015 is what made me hit every show I've wanted to ever see this year. I played a lot of catch-up! So many I regret not seeing him, I searched for tickets, went on vacation, forgot about it and pretty much a week later, the show closed. Never again I say!

Maybe if the touring production returns for a short engagement at studio 54.

I hope not. He's very talented, that's for sure. But, quite honestly, he's not one of my favorite Broadway performers. Cumming has done it twice already. It's high time to pass the torch to someone....else.

I think it would be simply terrific if, Like Yul Brynner and Carol Channing, he just revived his one success over and over and over and over again, selling fewer and fewer tickets each time, until he expires, covered in a cold sweat of desperation.
