I'm still a bit confused as to how to take to your posts, ss. You're love for LEGALLY BLONDE is starting to get on my nerves. To be fair, I don't see it winning and/or getting nominated. It was a one-time fling for the network, aaaannnd, the end. lol

Posted: 11/17/07 at 9:17pmThe OP's post is pretty funny considering Christine Ebersole's role isn't supposed to be "fun", so they're obviously uneducated about the show. But so as to not feed the troll, Legally Blonde is certainly better than some (okay, one) shows on Broadway.

Maybe Laurence O'Keefe, Nell Benjamin and Heather Hach should write every broadway show. Since between them they have all that experience.
Edit:
For the record I had to look these names up. Thats how much they matter in the grand scheme of Broadway.

I like Legally Blonde, and I'm obviously not an idiot, because I love Andrew Lloyd Webber, and can't stand Sondheim. And yeah, Sondheim does write weird words. He writes it as people would actually say them. That's stupid. That's why Andrew Lloyd Webber doesn't even write lyrics: because he was so un-impressed by Sondheim's he thought it was a sin.

I know: sondheimgeek. I love LEGALLY BLONDE, and adore COMPANY and INTO THE WOODS, and PHANTOM and LES MIS have wonderfully operatic music. I'm just sick of his threads making it seem like if your a fan of LEGALLY BLONDE, suddenly your like him.

In all seriousness, I am a casual fan of Legally Blonde. I hope most people can admit it's at least 5x better than "Bat Boy". I do not like Phantom or Les Mis, but they still have their pro's.

Hm. Agreed, sondheimgeek.

Maybe Phantom was ruined for me, because I initially saw the Forbidden Broadway spoof of Sarah Brightman, and, when listening to the soundtrack, is all I could think of. I'm also not a fan of ALW for various reasons. And as for Les Mis, I think the songs are great (they can be a little bit boring sometimes), but it just never "clicked" with me. I don't know why. Maybe it was the orchestrations on the OLCR. Although, I do think Patti was great. But overall, both shows have their merits, but for some reason, I just don't love them.

Ok now this is just getting annoying. No, Legally Blonde will not win any Emmy Awards for the MTV broadcast. It's a semi-decent show that will probably have a healthy run on Broadway (2-3 years I'm guessing) and then close, never to be revived on Broadway again. Like somebody said in the other thread, 10 years from now people will probably have forgotten all about Legally Blonde The Musical.
And in reference to Grey Gardens, it's not supposed to be a fun "HA! HA! HA!" type show, although it does have it's funny moments. The subject matter is inherently serious . But most people know that going into the show and they don't expect to be rolling in the aisles as if they were at Spamalot or Avenue Q.

I don't know if you're serious or not but if you are that's just ridiculous. I absolutely hated Grey Gardens but that doesn't change the fact that Ebersole deserved that award 110%
as for the emmy thing, that's a good question, I suppose it is possible, that would be kind of cool.
Cages or wings? Which do you prefer? Ask the birds. Fear or love, baby? Don't say the answer Actions speak louder than words. (Tick, Tick... BOOM!)

I think if anything, maybe a techincal award, but no.
And yes, you make us look like crazy WICKED fans who know nothing about fine theatre. And while it was good, THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA was eons better.
And I loved Chrisitne Ebersole in GG, not some "chick." Did she gobble in feathers onstage? And ELAINE PAIGE from Cats *shudder* is not a chick, either. She's just short and in high heels.
"Maybe Laurence O'Keefe, Nell Benjamin and Heather Hach should write every broadway show. Since between them they have all that experience."
I swore they wrote HOT FEET, HAIRSPARY, WICKED, BY JEEVES, and IN MY LIFE.
