Will Little Shop Extend?

Does anybody think that the Off-Broadway Little Shop will extend? Maybe not with the current cast but would love to see this production continue.

I kind of hope they turn that production into an open-run, like Rock of Ages just did. Probably would have to be a new cast (even as I can't even think how anyone can top Borle in his roles), but to have this show stay in NYC would be great.

Had no idea Rick of Ages did that! But I think if it does extend they could possibly transfer to Broadway but maybe a small theatre. Like the Helen Hayes.

I think the producers and creative team have said they definitely don't want to bring it to Broadway, but I think in the most recent episode of Variety's Stagecraft podcast Jonathon Groff mentioned that he thinks the producers would like to extend it as much as possible and just keep it running.

They intentionally don't want to do that, but the Hayes is now a Second Stage house.

Did Groff happen to mention how long he would plan staying with the show.

I don't recall him mentioning anything on the episode but it seemed like he really enjoyed playing Seymour so I can see him extending as his schedule permits.

Heard from a theater staff member they are trying to extend with Gideon.

Uh yes please!! I really enjoyed his portrayal of Seymour.

I would love to see this happen. His Seymour was absolute perfection. Hoping if this extends that a new Audrey comes in, though.

Oh good. I was hoping for this. I didn't make it to the theater to try for lottery during his brief run. (I had already seen it with Groff.) Was hoping that they would just extend the run & get him to take over for Seymour, since I'm sure Groff's availability is more limited. Fingers crossed.
