Hi All:
The Will Rogers Follies had a terrible accident. Their Tractor Trailer(carrying sets and costumes) went off a bridge and plunged into a ravine, killing the driver. All sets and costumes were destroyed and now the show is postponed.
That poor driver. God Bless him.

Statements:
On Tuesday, September 13 the tour was involved in a tragic accident. Unfortunately, Will Rogers Follies has been postponed and will not be held on Monday, September 19, 2005. The tour management is working with the Great Falls Symphony office to reschedule the performance and they ask your patience as they strive to come up with an alternate date.

Official statement from Stephen Kane:
Stephen Kane of Phoenix Entertainment, the producers of the national tour, released this written statement at 4:40 PM CST on September 12. “Our touring production of THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES will not be able to play the scheduled engagement at Rudder Auditorium at Texas A&M University on September 13 and 14, 2005. The set was entirely destroyed in a tragic and fatal trucking accident in Orange County, Texas this morning that resulted in the closure of Interstate 10 for several hours in both directions.”

This was a terrible accident, but it was discussed at length on a previous thread.

No problem. It's on the next page. I would post a link, but I don't know how.
Copy and paste.
This is so sad, my thoughts are with the driver and his family. It also sucks that the tour got cancelled.

Thank you for clarifying Broadwaytheatre11..
Wouldn't it have been nice if they actually mentioned the driver's name rather than just calling him "the driver." Maybe a little "Driver is survived by his wife and 2 children, etc."
This man lost his life, after all. I understand that the show must go on and all but it wouldn't have hurt to give this man some credit and respect.
(I am aware though that maybe his family didn't want his name disclosed...) am i talking out my butt, forget it.
see ya!
