I will be seeing Gypsy's Final show on Sunday at 3pm . And being the fool that I am, also got a ticket to Spring Awakening at 7pm the same day.(long story,and pointless)
I would like to enjoy the final moments of Gypsy with hearing the speeches and what not at the end. Also I will stage door it as well. When all is said and done do you think I could make it over to the Eugine O'Neill before 7 pm?
thank you for any input. I would love to see if I can take on Sunday without whipping out the ol' ativan

Most likely. It's only a few of blocks away, so you won't have to give yourself a lot of time. Just keep an eye on the time during speeches.
I only worry about you not eating dinner!

It'll take extra time at Gypsy, but I doubt a whole hour extra.
Stagedooring may not be possible, though.

Posted: 1/8/09 at 6:06pmYeah, you could probably do it, but you'd probably only be able to stage door Gypsy for about 20 minutes before heading to Spring Awakening. I don't think the cast of Gypsy usually takes that long to come out, but it being the last show and there being much more people there, ya never know.

Posted: 1/8/09 at 6:10pmBetween the show and whatever speeches may happen I'm sure you'd still be on the street by 6 giving you about 45 minutes for stage-dooring, assuming it takes you 15 minutes to walk 5 blocks, which is a generous amount of time. Just walk up 8th Avenue.

Whip out the old Ativan anyway! (In my opinion, it can never hurt.)
Ativan = Ati-yes-I-can!

gypsy usually ends on sundays at 5:50ish
that plus speaches = maybe 6:10
now that plus stagedoor might just be = spring awakening will be closed by the time you are done stagedooring for gypsy

Posted: 1/8/09 at 11:16pmLast Sunday I was at the Hairspray and Grease closing. I got to stagedoor Hairspray for about 15 - 20mins before I needed to walk over to Grease. I just about made it. Unfortunately I did not see a lot of people at the Hairspray Stagedoor.

Posted: 1/9/09 at 12:51amI think you'll be fine. They aren't that far apart, just keep an eye on the time when you're at the stage door. If you're worried about food, maybe pack a reasonably inoffensive (aka something that won't be smell-able to those around you while you sit through Gypsy) snack in your bag to eat between shows.
