Okay, this may not be "Broadway" but it is something that is quite popular this time of the year and I'm posting it on the Broadway Board.

A friend of mine is thinking of taking her grandchildren, ages 5 through 9, to see this. Her concern is whether it's more of a circus or whether there's some sort of storyline involved. As I've never seen it, I couldn't advise her on it, but I'm sure there are plenty of you here who can help.

So, please advise us.

kind of. it's cirque du soleil and there's always an element of storytelling. this show in particular is totally geared towards kids...and it's definitely NOT the best of cirque in my opinion...i saw it a while ago. not a play at all, but i think i remember some speaking...it's like an...inferior version of a normal cirque du soleil show...still cool, just not as cool if you've ever seen any other of their productions.

All Cirque shows have a storyline to them. As young kids, they might not grasp the storyline as well as adults, but I think any kid will enjoy the spectacle of it.

I saw it last year. There is definitely a storyline but it's much more about the acts within.

I hear (and I'm not being facetious) that it gets more and more incomprehensible every year.

I saw it last year. I think it was about a kid who tries to save winter or something, with the help of a Shaman, a bunch of dogs and some jugglers, tightrope walkers, etc.

I didn't like it. Then again, I was hoping for something that was more along the lines of The Beatles Love than a circus.

I couldn't tell you what the story was, I saw it last year, but the ending is amazing!

"with the help of a Shaman"

At first I thought you said Shaiman. Then I thought when did Marc become involved in the production?

I saw the production at MSG in New York and I left at intermission. It's like a dumbed down Cirque show, and I don't think it would keep a kid's attention. The kids around me were restless, and I was bored out of my mind. I'm 24 and flashy things usually keep me entertained. Not this one...
