I saw the show in London and thought it was a very good story. What I would like to have seen at the end of the show is...
SPOILER
the woman in white re-appear when Marian revisits the lake. I think it would have completed the story having Anne Catherick 'appear' to Marian (sort of 'was she there/wasn't she'), adding to the ghost idea at the beginning of the show. Also would suggest she was now 'at rest' and the story was concluded and in-keeping with the period.

Wow - that was an awesome idea --- it's amazing that after all the variations and changes, that's the first one that made me jump out of my seat (well, not literally, but, you get the idea...) and say that would have been perfect! Especially if Marian did her big final "Now I have a secret" to the "Evermore without you" line with the "ghost" reappearing and then end musically (like it did on the OLC recording)
Really - a great, great idea. I love the show, but that would have just hit it out of the park.
