Who is the Woman in White? Please also post or PM me the ending, as I really wish to find out what happened.
Thanks.

I don't understand why you'd like to know before watching the show...
The famous "secret" in the musical I thought was very interesting, maybe not a surprising "Sixth Sense" twist, but it wraps the story up very well...

I agree with Blaxx, better not to know the secret and the ending, so you can enjoy this Victorian thriller more
The woman in white is Anne Catherick (played by Angela Christian in the forthcoming show on Broadway)...
... whose ghostly presence haunts the story.

Go to the first preview on October 28, and you'll have the answer...it's only a bit over seven weeks away.
Reading the book won't help as the stage secret is different from the book.

Thanks, kec.
I'm reading the book now, and I am about 2/3 finished.
The book is haunting. I advise everybody to read it before seeing the show, even though the show is a loose adaptation, and many changes are made.
My apologies, Jose, if I spoiled something for you.
How are you enjoying it? I found the book a bit slow going at times, but it got better -- probably at the point you're at by now.

The novel is mesmerizing. Can't put it down. An hones-to-goodness page turner.
Praise the lawd for intelelligent writing and plotting.
And I am extremely fond of the score, too.

I have just started the chapter entitled, "The Story continued by Eliza Michelson, Housekeeper at Blackwater Park."
"The novel is mesmerizing. Can't put it down. An hones-to-goodness page turner. "
Agreed -- once I past the parts I thought were a bit slow, I had great difficulty putting the book down. Overall I very much enjoyed it. I'm going to read Collins' The Moonstone next.
BTW -- not to change the subject, but did you make it over to Scotland for the Fringe?
Going to see it at month end in London, cant wait to see the changes, hope they are good ones.

kec, Yes. Terrific time!
The Fallen Angle, Rosslyn Chapel
The Moonstone is one of the very best victorian novels that i have ever read. Aldo try to get a copy og Lady Audley's Secret, it's pretty good as a victorian sensation novel.

Add me to the "loved the book" crowd. What a fabulous read - a true page turner with a smart, suspenseful and often hilarious narrative.

I believe this book was adapted for PBS's "Mystery" series, back when Vincent Price was alive and hosting it.
Hey, Jose!!! I have a similar photo
-- I was in Roslyn chapel about 2 weeks ago. Haven't read the DaVinci Code (yet), but I am aware that it's mentioned in the book. What a beautiful place it is.
Ruquat, There was a miniseries based on the novel in the UK a few years ago. Simon Callow played Count Fosco in that production, and, coincidently, is currently playing the role in the London production of WiW.

kec, that's a coincidence! I was there just over a week ago myself. Quite extraordinary. And I haven't read DA VINCI CODE.
I would like to get my hands on the film version of TWIW that aired on public television.
The Simon Callow version is coming out in October: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0009OL92K/qid=1126237588/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/103-5083930-3462202?v=glance&s=dvd
Da Vinci Code is next on my list, after The Moonstone.

"...how can I face a life without you, or even tomorrow?..."
The books are pretty famous as early 20th century mystery. Almost as famous for being caricatures of what mystery is about w hidden passages, illicit relationships, mustache twirling villians, innocent maidens, etc. I'll stick w my Trollope.
