I know very little about this show but LOVED the cast recording. From what I gathered it looked extremely messy the first time around but very happy to hear it's doing well!
(ps most of the songs are great for working out haha)

I've heard it described as "messy" before, but I never felt that way watching it. It looked like an Almodovar film and I loved the staging. I didn't want it to end.

Honestly, the negative response the first time around surprised me because I actually did watch the movie after *ahem* viewing the show itself and all I could think to myself was, "Did the folks who hated this even see the movie?"

That's how I felt when I read the reviews! I was astonished that critics seemed so blatantly ignorant of his films and his style. The Broadway production was Almodovar on stage. Well, except for the revised ending. It was like watching a loving tribute to his body of work (not just this film), especially his 80s material.
