I think he's an usher at the Hirschfeld. I've wondered which one, because I've seen the show 4 times now. JRB, do you remember a blonde girl who lost her ticket in the lobby in February? Was that you who told me that Mary had it?

Well Corrine; I am going to take your word for it and try to get tickets for this at the booth. I am giving you a second chance after your Gypsy recomendation.
For those of you who didn't love Aida...did u see it with Adam???!!
lol--that wasn't me =) Glad you found your ticket--Mary is the coolest! lol
BoxOfficeJon I love Maureen Lipman!! Big fan of all her work. Have you read any of her books? Very funny. & when i was sick in London they helped keep me from going even more insane!! " Mahler, couldn't you simply die without him"
I don't remember any screaming in Aida. NYUstud you asked what shows I like. If you are talking about the present, I did love Wicked, BFO, and Caroline, or Change and I thought LSOH was pretty entertaining. Wonderful Town was just stale to me.
Theatermafia,
Hope you like it. I did not see Heather in Aida but i think Adam Pascal was in it.
I was in the first row and it was VERY LOUD. Louder then Mamma Mia my ears hurt at the end it was like i was at a rock concert and i had a headache the next day.
Why play the music so loud?
Of the shows you like my favorite is Caroline Or Change Third.
I liked Little Shop and Wicked but not as much.

I think WT is dated, and has a pretty unmemorable score (considering who produced it!), and has a pretty weak book...in the 2nd act, the landlord is screaming his head off for them to leave, then instantly "Ok, you can stay!" And why does Ruth sing with Eileen at the club -- since when is she a performer, and why is she interfering when her sister finally gets a break? Those are just a couple of silly things in the book. Also, it seems like half the numbers are big chorus numbers that don't have anything to do with the plot. Like the football player's number, and the one in the park, even 'Conga.'
This is a good production of what I consider a middling show. Donna Murphy's physical comedy impressive, but she's not THAT great as everyone says. And her talking out the side of her mouth shtick (a la Roz Russell, I believe) is annoying. Jennifer W. good. The football player's girlfriend excellent in a stock role. someone on this message board once commented that there's no chemistry between Donna Murphy and Gregg Edelman. Agree. They're both okay in the show, but something was missing.
Is Caroline, or Change worth seeing at the O'neil? Is it going to be as good or better than the off-bway run? Should I go or not?

I saw Wonderful Town last night and fell in love with it. Donna Murphy was GREAT! And so funny! I thought the talking out the side of her mouth was hilarious. What a feel good musical. And what wonderful songs! The cast was on fire. Gregg Edelman was out, but his replacement Matthew Shepard was fine. I'd see it again. Hope it wins Best Revival. Bravo to Bernstein!

I personally think Donna Murphy is perfect in this role and show...I saw the show the first time on March 11 and immediately fell in love with it and with her! I've already seen it 4 times with plans to see it a few times in the coming weeks. And I have to add that I was there Wednesday night as well and thought Matthew Shepard did great in the role of Bob Barker. But it was too funny to see the set have difficulties again..the set got stuck while changing and they had to put down the curtain in order to fix it! The show might be great but the set sure has its problems!

To pitrepower:
Almost PM'd you to say: "Hey! I was at last night's performance of Wonderful Town, and I don't remember any set problems or the curtain coming down! Did I doze off or something?" Then I remembered, I was at the matinee, not the evening show. That's how stunned I was by this marvelous musical, the wonderful cast and the great audience. It seemed like an evening performance. And, I agree with you. Mr. Shepard was very, very good. Bravo to everyone!
Glad you liked it as much as i did RED.
It is a must see just like Q and Forbidden Broadway.
