re: Wonderful Town at 49.8%

It's not that well known of a show, not so much as Phantom, Wickedc, Producers people who don't know musical theatre will tend to go towards ones they've seen and like. Thats just my thought.

Try having the Orch. Tix at $55, Front Mezz at $40 and rear mezz at $25 and watch those numbers rise quickly.

re: Wonderful Town at 49.8%

No, it's actually not. I don't feel bad for these shows that charge $100 for a ticket and than complain about 49% attendance.

re: Wonderful Town at 49.8%

$25 is the standard price for rush or standing room for shows, and if a show is only filling 49%, that means they're moving everyone to the orch.

I would think that they would want to sell those other seats for $25 rather than keep them empty. But after what happened to me last time, I can't be sure.

re: Wonderful Town at 49.8%

actually, the orchestra is almost always completely full.

The show has rush tickets and tkts tickets--thus, the problem isn't price. It's that people are not flocking to see the show. How is the rest of Broadway doing?

re: Wonderful Town at 49.8%

I have never seen it, but basing it on the cast recording.......I wouldn't see it either. BORING!!! I love the movie version of it with Bob Fosse and Janet Leigh called "My Sister Eillen." Great movie

re: Wonderful Town at 49.8%

Yeah the cd doesnt really do it justice. I saw it. Its a very clever show and staged very differently (similar to Chicago) which makes it interesting to watch. I liked it. I think it's advertising. Not too many people know what it's about. Maybe a few more radio broadcasts and some interiews maybe on HBO (Caroline, or Change). Also ur right, they could lower the prices a bit

re: Wonderful Town at 49.8%

I've learned to appreciate some of the songs on the CD: Overture, Christopher Street, Ohio, A Little Bit in Love and Conga. Other than that, the songs are pretty boring, in my opinion.

And Little Shop of Horrors closes.

re: Wonderful Town at 49.8%

They should close this show already. It's driving me up the wall that Caroline is closing, and Assassins and Little Shop have shuttered, but not this revival-on-a-respirator.

re: Wonderful Town at 49.8%

If Wonderful Town can do it, so can:

Little Shop of Horrors
Caroline, or Change
Assassins

...but they didn't. If Brooke brings in more people, Wonderful Town is going to close right after she leaves unless they do some serious stunt casting.

At least they're not aiming it specifically at Donna this time, jrb.
