Wonderful Town on Regis & Kelly---and a question...

Posted: 6/22/04 at 12:18pmWho saw Wonderful Town this morning?? How was it? Anyway, my other question is are the shows performing on "Live" shows that need a boost in ticket sales (because Little Shop, Wonderful Town, Bombay Dreams, & Caroline or Change...well let's just say they could do better with ticket sales) If so, I was surprised Avenue Q was there since it won the Tony...I guess the more publicity, the better???

Posted: 6/22/04 at 1:01pmDonna Murphey was excellent (of course). I'm not sure what the song was (not too familiar with Wonderful Town), but it was something about how to lose a man. There doesn't seem to be a reason or theme for the shows this week other than "Broadway Week."

Posted: 6/22/04 at 2:40pmI loved her---she is always so spot-on when she performs. I luckily woke up and taped it in time. I'm glad she did this song; it shows her off, and the audience was cracking up.

why did they cut a single line from the song? the one missing was:
a sure, sure, sure, sure, way to lose a man, a splendid way to lose a ma, just throw your knowlege in his face he'll never try for second base

Posted: 6/22/04 at 3:02pmThat's one the best lines, too.
The opposite of creation isn't war, it's stagnation.

Posted: 6/22/04 at 3:17pmmaybe they thought second base was a little risque for the daytime crowd

same reason why Princeton would only "date his TA". I understand not saying the F word - I thought he would say screw.
Oh can anybody tell me the cut lyrics version? I think Im going to use that song to audition with for a revue and it's only supposed to be a min and a half. (But I DO want to keep the second base line - maybe replace a not so funny line that they kept in this version). Thanks!

Posted: 6/22/04 at 5:22pmBut it was cut from the TV version, and I was wondering what else exactly was cut?

Posted: 6/22/04 at 5:43pmThey also cut out the lifeguard line, this morning, if I remember correctly. Donna is superb, she blows me away in this show, I laugh so hard whenever I listen to the song.

Posted: 6/22/04 at 6:25pmYea she wowed me. I wasnt looking ot be that impressed (I always look at acting before singign and dancing, as I can't sing or dance myself) but Donna has more stage presence than I've seen in a long while! She seems very down to earth.
