BKLYN, without a doubt. Eden Espinoza has a great voice but oh my god... the story, the music... let's just say, I loathed it all.

I think worst show and worst production are two different questions.

Worst show? A musical called "Out of the Blue" in the West End in '94 which was about the bombing of Nagasaki. Seriously.

Worst production? A community theatre production of "My Fair Lady" by some church in Manhattan Beach, CA that made me want to seriously pull my spleen out through my nostrils. There were a couple of people who could sing, but my GOD IT WAS AWFUL!!!!! There had been CUTS and it was still like, over 3.5 hours.

Oh! Oh! I have! I totally forgot about that disgrace of a show. "It's a one-won-two-der-three-ful life!" Even when I was 12 and had limited theater knowledge, I knew that was a bad show.

The Melbourne revival of 'Annie' was painful. Not even the presence of Anthony Warlow could save this show from the terminal creaks.

I don't like using the term "WORST" -- but shows that i REALLY DID NOT ENJOY AT ALL include:

Brooklyn (sorry, its just not for me)
The non-equity 42nd Street Tour
The Starlight Express Tour

Local productions - Sophisticated Ladies & Camelot at the Papermill.

West End - Starlight Express

Broadway - I've pretty much found something redeeming in all of the shows I've seen, nothing sticks out as the worst.

movin out. i saw a matinee and since there are certain performers who only go on during the matinees i figured they'd give it their all since they didn't have to worry too much about doing an evening show. they were so marking and i felt robbed of that time.

Come on, seriously - I know this is about opinion, but you seriously have to question some that list CABARET, CAROUSEL, and RENT as the worst show they have ever seen. Perhaps it was a terrible production, I'll allow them that, but by no means are those shows - ESPECIALLY Cabaret and Carousel bad shows. I will never understand that, but, it's all about opinion and to be honest, I pity those who would deem Cabaret and Carousel as "the worst."

For me, DRACULA and OLDEST LIVING CONFEDERATE WIDOW TELLS ALL are the two that come to mind first. I've never contemplated suicide before - especially in a Broadway theatre - until I had the misfortune of seeing those shows.

Dollypop, that's an interesting list.

The "worst" shows for me are shows that have terrific talent behind them, and yet the show presents no sign of it. I've seen hundreds of terrible productions of otherwise solid shows, and they don't make me angry. What I hate is watching a talent that I highly respect put on a piece of irredemable garbage.

I would submit:

WELCOME TO THE CLUB. Cy Coleman was a genius, and his shows are among my favorites. But WELCOME TO THE CLUB was a misogynistic, unfunny, nightmare of a show. He should have known better.

THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE GOES PUBLIC. I loathed this show when I saw it. In retrospect, I don't hate the show itself as much as I hate what it did to the confidence of my favorite director/choreographer, Tommy Tune. He hasn't worked on Broadway since.

STEEL PIER. Not simply a waste of time, but an actively hateful piece of musical theatre. STEEL PIER has more contempt for its audience than any other pedigreed musical I've ever witnessed. Strohman, Kander, Ebb, what were you thinking???

My Community Theatre did a Production of "The Hobbit" and it was so god awful, over half the audience left at intermission. I went back to my high school to see a production of Guys and Dolls, and that show is such a hard one to screw up and i'm ashamed to even say i did this, but i walked out in the middle of Luck Be a Lady Tonight!

NOTRE DAME DE PARIS followed v e r y closely by DRACULA.

I'm a relatively new theater goer.
Many will disagree, but my vote is for Pacific Overtures. It is the only show I have seen where I wanted to leave at the intermission. Unfortunately my friends made me stay.
