The man selling newspapers at the Rent stagedoor is very nice. His name is Robert. He's seen Rent more times than most people here, knows all the words to the show, and all the cast members know him as well.

My favorite is his "I Should Smell You" re: Worst stagedoor

It wasnt really a bad experience, but the stage door at Fiddler on the Roof was packed with a bunch of adult women who wanted to meet Rosie O'Donnell. She ended up coming out 30 minutes after the show, and everybody that came out before her triggered a "Yay, good job! Wheres Rosie?" from this annoying lady in the back of the crowd. When she came out she took pictures and signed everything... my mom told her she was missed on television and she gave her a kiss (cheek) and I took a picture... it was a nice ending to a crazy door...

My best was at Avenue Q. Barring its only a cast of 7 people, everyone came out and signed/took pictures. There were only about 10 or so of us waiting, so we had a nice conversation about how great the show was. Robyn Goodman (one of the producers) ended up coming out before everyone was out and took us backstage, so we got her autograph too. It was just a great experience. Barrett thanked me for coming and Mary gave me a huge hug, she is just too cute. My mom asked Ann Harada (Christmas Eve) if she really talked like that, and she laughed and assured her that she didnt.

The Wicked stage door has never been a problem when I go... the show Shoshana got her foot caught in the trap door at the beginning of No Good Deed caused her to come out a bit late, but she was still in good spirits and signed/took pictures.

Idina Menzel was really snobby when I met her last year in Wicked.. but to be fair it was when she was getting those death threats for being with Taye Diggs. I was there before the show and I told her "You are such an inspiration for me, Idina" and she didn't respond or show any emotion what so ever.. and I was like, crying ha ha (I was a 16yearold fangirl re: Worst stagedoor I'm sorry.. but thats just cold

Michelle Kitrell didn't sign for anyone.. I saw her as an understudy for Penny in "Hairspray" . Bruce Vilanch (I think thats his name.. the one who plays Edna)knew I wanted to talk to her so he was saying "Michelle... Michelle she wants to talk to you) (pointing to me) but Michelle just walked by

Nobert Leo Buts and Joanna Gleason weren't taking pictures... but they were very nice! Joanna was really nice to my mom.. it was really embarrasing because my mom walked over to Joanna's limo while she was getting in to tell Joanna that I was a big fan of hers and had played the bakers wife in a production of "Into The Woods"... it was so embarrasing.. but Joanna smiled at me and started waving!

Other than that everyone has been awesome!

After waiting an hour for Idina to come out after Wicked, I was informed by the stage door people that she had left out the other stage door. It jsut pissed me off so much that we were told she'd be coming out and then she changed her mind. Also, that the ushers @ the gershwin only tell you about the door on 51st, not the other one on 50th.

I never got to see her again for another chance.

Just wondering....

Do the actors who have been in TV or movies sign photos or posters, or is it just playbills?

>Global, I wouldn't ask them to sign a poster/photo from the movies they were in. Playbill or windcard would be okay.

What I often do is to ask a performer to autograph on my ticket. I just went through those old tickets and found the symphony tix autographed by Stokes (it was a concert) in 1998.

I don't usually do stagedoor anymore unless someone I know is in the show. But when POTO was in SF, I got to know one of the ensemble members so I went to the stagedoor and got autographs from the cast. One time I was asked if I'd like to see the backstage. Would I like?!! We went on the stage, peeked at the Phantom chair (we couldn't touch anything), went under the stage and saw all the costume etc. It was FUN!

Re: Patti taking nap between matinee and evening shows, I totally believe it and she should do that. When my friend was in a show, in which he was on the stage all the time (literary 100% of the time) singing and talking while he was on the stage, he took a nap between the shows. And he didn't even talk during this time either to save his voice. We communicated by signing and writing, boy that was fun re: Worst stagedoor

I never had a bad experience at stagedoor except once or twice I couldn't catch the performer (already left the theatre).
