EW! Saving it for later, are we?
Another reason to divorce that lazy good for nothing Phantom2 is it, Eddie?
Okay, Eddie, clearly the one in YOUR building doesn't.
Does Lane's contract state whether he's opting only for 6 performances, with his understudy doing the other 2, during regular weeks?
"I can't imagine that someone such as Nathan Lane would sign on to do x amount of shows without the belief that he could actually do so. All the speculation that he can't or it's too much for him is a little ridiculous."
Haven't you ever agreed to do something, then thought to yourself "Holy Sh*t!! What the FCUK did I get myself into?"
Only time will tell how "ridiculous" our speculation is.
Cookie, I would seriously hope at $100,000 a week for 3 months work, he's on all 8 shows.
pop: for the audience, most certainly. but I'm sure Brooks would cater to some of Lane's demands as well, and that could have been one of the stipulations, in addition to that salary from heaven...
Master, he clearly knew what he was doing. This is hardly the first time he's taken on this role.
Actors are not made of glass. They are people doing jobs like you and me. Except we don't get the money, applause, bravos, nor adulation, and our jobs don't consist of singing and dancing onstage every day. I don't understand the compulsion of people on this board to make being a Broadway star some horrible awful fate.
Cookie, if Brooks caters to that demand, then he really is a fool.
"Haven't you ever agreed to do something, then thought to yourself "Holy Sh*t!! What the FCUK did I get myself into?""
This isn't something that someone would enter into on a whim. Hello? Agents, Managers, Lawyers, contracts?
Jeez.
And it's not like he's never played the role before or anything. He more than anyone is well aware of whether he can handle performing it another 96 times.
Thank you!
So Lane might get $100K a week again. He deserves it! Just think of those awful sitcom actors that get 10x that for half the work!
Lane's performance in TP is what, IMHO, made the show a success. I remember the news stories about how the show generated revenue into the theater district. When he was in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", there were stories on "48 Hours" and all over the place that Lane was selling tickets faster than any other actor in years. He has made a ton of money for a LOT of people. He deserves whatever salary he can negotiate!
*steps off soapbox*
His salary isn't my issue, really. It's people think he's somehow being hard done by for earning over a million dollars for about 300 hours work.
Exactly, pop. Exactly.
You kids don't get it. You REALLY don't.
Will it take "Lane in London Hospital" headlines to wake you up?
Oh for chrissake. He's a GROWN MAN. Not an abused child.
Us kids get it just fine, thank you, oh patronizing one. Will it take "Lane Laughing All The Way To The Bank" to make you realise how insane you're being?
You really need to take a look at why you're so upset over this. As far as I know (and correct me if I'm wrong), you don't even know the man. I'm sure there are other people actually in your life who could benefit from your concern.
Well, at least the audience will have more chances to see what should be a great cast, I think Lane and Evans will make a wonderful duo!
Should be fabulous, that's for sure.
I've heard a certain poster on this board just secured himself a ticket, so hopefully he/she/they will share a review with us.
I don't know who you mean, Rath
I wouldn't name names.
Quite. That would be vulgar.
And if there's one thing I'm not, it's...oh never mind.
