Written just for me...(Ave Q).

There are those rare moments when I go to a musical and I can relate to certain things so much I feel as though the songs could have been written especially for me. Avenue Q was one of those times. I don't remember laughing so much in the theater in a long time. And I could definately relate to some of the situations the characters were in. The last time I felt like this was when I saw Rent for the first time. I'm sure I wouldn't feel like that now since I'm in a different place in life. But it's pretty exciting when a piece of theater relates to your life so closely.

I am going to get the OBCR soon. When I listen to it, will I know all about you? Do you think the internet is for porn? lol.

I have NEVER in my entire life looked at porn on the internet so that is the one song I could not relate to. re: re: Written just for me...(Ave Q).

What are you smoking? That song is the SHIZZ.

Personally, I feel I relate to Kate monster :)

I think the songs in this show particularly stick in your head, does anyone else feel that way? I find myself singing them all the time. I'm really looking forward to seeing this show and I don't know exactly what to expect.

Everybody I know who has seen AVENUE Q (no matter how old they are) are shocked into recognition with so many of the characters concerns.

When I took my friend Scott from L.A. a few weeks ago, he grabbed my kneee when Kate tells Princeton "I have ENOUGH friends..." He was in tears as that's the line he uses on guys who tell him "I don't want to continue dating you any more...can't we be friends?"

It's a show that's funny as hell...but with a rich humanity too.

Well, I've never actually seen the show, but I listen to the OBCR literally ALL THE TIME. It is so catchy, and I often find myself starting to sing certain lines- like "F**k you lady, that's what stairs are for!" for no particular reason. No wonder people look at me funny.... re: Written just for me...(Ave Q).
I can definitely relate to a lot of the songs, and I think that that it this show's greatness- it's funny, but has a "gigantic" heart as well!!

re: re: Written just for me...(Ave Q).

I can relate to a lot too...
- Internet...is definitely for porn
- I used to make my wife mixed tapes a lot when I first met her
- I am a little bit racist some time
- I still wonder about my purpose...thats why I'm going back to school so that I may teach Middle School...gasp...the horror
- George Bush is only for now
- Getting joy in people's pain (not really bad pain but laughable pain that is) is fun too
- And the bad bears are always corrupting me too

Well...that's kinda the point. And we're talking about all the songs..not just the internet is for porn.

the lyrics are *supposed* to be childish?? ok, just checking! =)

Well, given that the show is a satire of children's shows and the songs used in those sort of shows, yes, there is an inherent degree of intentional childishness in them.

It is sort of the point of the show.
