Well...that's kinda the point. And we're talking about all the songs..not just the internet is for porn.

the lyrics are *supposed* to be childish?? ok, just checking! =)

Yeah, ummm...it's a comedy. It's supposed to make you laugh. And as for childish...have you even SEEN this show?

This is an excellent show. On the surface, it looks very simple and comedic, but it REALLY has meaning. "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" makes such a great statement. It's hard to pick up on it while you're watching the show (and laughing so much:)) but when I got the album and read the lyrics and listened, I was so moved by a lot of the songs. Especially "For Now." I'm graduating from college in May, and I know exactly what these characters are going through. Good stuff.

Yeah...For Now is a great song. I think I should have some of my kids at the high school listen to it.
I also relate to "It Sucks To Be Me", especially Christmas Eve's part since I have a master's degree (although only one) in social work.

And Princess...maybe it would help if you actually saw the show...

I can't wait to see the show. I find the songs hysterical (such as "If You Were Gay" and "I'm Not Wearing Any Underwear Today") and thought provoking ("There's a Fine, Fine Line" and "For Now"). My friend and I are planning a trip to see this show and I CAN NOT WAIT!

We were visting my mom's friend's house the day after Thanksgiving, and they have this Broadway radio station. Of course I sat there listening to it the whole day-- heaven! And there was a screen that actually showed the title of the song playing and the show it was from! Eventually "The Internet is For Porn" has to come on, right? Well, it did, and there I was sitting next to the stereo laughing over it, when my 11-year-old sister comes running over and goes, "What are you listening to?" (Looks at screen) "The Internet is for Po?" (The screen was only so big, so it cut off the rest of the title) "What's that supposed to be?" Me: "Er..." but she lost interest and ran off. Probably thought it had to do with the Teletubbie or something.

Good song though :)

Princess, I think you would actually really LOVE Avenue Q :) I don't know if others would agree with me, but I found it very similar to Rent! I've always thought the whole theme of Rent was that, yeah, their lives are all in turmoil but they have each other (and their art) and that is all that matters. In one of the first songs of Avenue Q, they come right out and say, "It sucks to be us...but not when we're together!" :) Same theme.
