Understudy or not...I think the tour is in good shape and I can't wait to see it in march.
I was there the evening of the 26th and the skate thing was adorable. Having seen the show multiple times at the Helen Hayes, the OCPAC is quite the cave in comparison. I do feel the show works best in a smaller venue. Maybe next time they can play the Wilshire Theater (is that even still open?) The tour is in great shape, and they sound wonderful, even the band seems a bit better than on Broadway.
Question for the masses: Why did they change Clio/Kira from Tangerine to Kitty? Seems kinda random.
^I was wondering that myself! The first time I heard Tangerine, it really struck out at me and made me think for a second, but now I've just goten used to it. I guess Kitty just sounds like another name, and it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb to me.
I'm also wondering how they have the muses coming out of Sonny's mural during "I'm Alive" in the tour, as well as putting roller skates on Sonny during "Suddenly." There aren't any traps in the stage on tour...
The mural is projected on the back wall of the set, between two pillars. The portion of the wall between the pillars is made up of three pieces. The center piece flies straight up, and the left and right pieces fly up/out diagonally, and the muses literally "come out of the wall."
During "The Fall," there's a great moment where the muses go behind the pillars (the actors disappear behind the wall set piece), but the projections "run" out from the other side of the pillar and up onto the wall. It looks VERY realistic due to the way it's timed.
There's a photo on the projection designer's website that shows the tour projection on the back wall.

ooo that sounds like it'll be pretty cool! Looking
forward to it.
Everyone want to help me win a walk on role in the Xanadu tour in Seattle?

Like and/or comment (preferably both... ) on the post Jared G made there. (It should be right at or near the top). I think you have to become a fan first though.
Thank you to everyone who votes for me! I really, really appreciate it =)
You can do it once a day too until Thursday!
Your video was awesome! I'm still trying to brainstorm my entry... I'll still vote for you, though! So creative and funny. Best of luck to you! I'm very curious about the walk on role. My tickets are for the 22nd so I don't get to see it.
I have tickets for the 22nd as well! Onstage!
And thank you so much for voting for me =) I'll vote for you as well, just let me know what your name is when you post it.
The walk on role consists of the person riding the bike, which Sonny borrows. I believe thats what it was in Orange County
JEALOUS! They never did anything to win a walk-on role in Chicago... at least not that I can remember anyways, and I saw the show many times while it was in town.
@ emo_geek
Thanks again for voting for me! And that's so cool, thanks for the info! I hope I win...
@lakezurich

How much have onstage seats been going for in your cities?

I have nothing to add on the walk-on role front, but I saw the tour a couple weekends ago in Sacramento, and although the show definitely wasn't my cup of tea, the cast was a lot of fun. And I was surprised given the demographics of Sacramento's regular subscription base that the reception was as good as it was!
^^ haha you can add a vote for me if you have nothing else to add =)
@Shunterk
Stage seats in Seattle are $25.00 before fees, and $33 something after

You can probably avoid those fees by buying directly at the Box Office in person. Most theatres are like that with any tickets.
I was just informed that the person with the most number of votes will win, which is NOT what the rules say, but whatever.
If anyone reading this could PLEASE vote for me, I seriously will thank you so much.

I'm seeing it from the stage next week in Seattle. Very excited.
Three members of the Chicago Xana-crew will be seeing the show in Cleveland the wekend of March 17th. I'm so excited!
I'm in the video contest too! I probably don't stand at chance at winning since voting closes at midnight, but I'd still like to share:
