Xanadu is closing on Sunday the 29th -

They told me that their tour to Tokyo is starting earlier -

What a bummer. This is a great show - perhaps just bad timing with the economy and all.

*silence* not that we needed any more official confirmation, but the box office also confirmed it tonight. Tickets already bought. I can't believe it's going already! ::sigh:: sadness.

To be honest, I have known since February. Their ads had said it was extended to March 29th for some time now... Even though their initial run was until May I think. Also, I sat on stage last night and they had to pull students from one of their groups to fill up the stage seating because even 25 dollar tickets aren't selling well. However, for a small audience we were very into it!

The very last day I will be able to see this is the 26th, which is very bitter sweet, as it is also celebrating one year from the day I saw Xanadu on Broadway for the first time...

Front row, first middle section from stage left, end of row near the aisle. I was doing the bump with Sharon during Xanadu. lol

I so want to bring the bears with next time we go but I feel like they'd semi-frown on that, especially since we'll be on stage again...lol

SH*T! I Just called my grandpa and told him I wanted to go to RENT as a birthday present then saw THIS!

I'm going out of town, but I may be back in time by the very last night show on Sunday... If not my last show will be the 26th (which is also the one year anniversary when I first saw Xanadu on Broadway).

It will hit me during "Don't Walk Away," I'm sure. lol

I'll be the only one bawling.

Besides us, you mean! I cried at Wicked's last, and don't get me wrong, I like Wicked a lot, but I LOOOOOVE Xanadu. So sad it's leaving but I can't wait to read (hopefully?) reactions to it from Tokyo. I think they will love it too :)

I was a freaking wreck when my Altar Boyz closed in Chicago. I realized, though, that we'll all have to reign it in because we're going to be onstage. Can't have the audience looking at the crazy crying girls when Max Von Essen is belting his heart out.

Got an e-mail from BIC today that announced 24 performances left. SO sad. This production deserved better reception in Chicago.
