"Xanadu" for Darfur- 10/31/07 - 8PM

Hi All,

I am just about certain that my previous thread on this was one that was lost during the system crash. My apologies if it still exists. Searched and cant find it.

Anyway, as most of you might have read, Mei and I are doing a charity event on 10/31/07- Halloween evening- 8PM-

We purchased 15 on-stage seats for "Xanadu", as well as SaveDarfur t-shirts and bracelets for everyone that is joining us for this special night.

We picked Darfur because of the importance that it holds for Kerry Butler, (as well as wife and I) and she was nice enough to have the t-shirts signed by the cast (Btw, they look great !- and yes, Cheyenne was back in time to sign them :))

*** BIG "Thank You" to the entire cast ******

Part of the proceeds from the sale of the shirts and bracelets go to the "SaveDarfur" organiztion.

Info on the charity, (as well as pics of the shirts and bracelets) can be found at : www.savedarfur.org

The tickets are $25, which will include the signed t-shirt and bracelet (and hey, its Halloween... who knows what else???!!!)

That $25 will go right back to the charity- (I will be making that donation on-line).

There are currently (2) tickets left- Others have been taken.

We will be meeting in front of the theatre on 10/31. I will be there no later than 5:30PM.

What a great idea. I can't be there but will buy a t-shirt. Thank you for thinking of these people. They have suffered so much already.

Hi All !!

Well, the day is almost here ! Everyone seems to be very excited !!

Anyway, for those that are joining us on-stage that night, if you can PM me (as soon as possible), so I can verify that you are attending, it would be greatly appreciated ! (Robbie.. ur excused, because we just spoke..lol- got you and Jen down)

I will be in front of the theatre (I will be there early) with your tickets, shirts and bracelets. (and other goodies, although the AP did ruin the "Fresca" surprise ..lol !!!)

Actually, almost everyone knew about Darfur. If they didnt, I provided the website link with my OP, when we first decided to do this.

You can try all you want to put a damper on this. Not going to happen.

These people are faced with atrocities that you cant even imagine. The fact that you would post something even remotely sarcastic about it, shows a lot about your character.

Hey! I just wanted to say Thank You to Andrew and Mei for making this amazing night happen for us, and for helping a wonderful cause along with providing a really fun experience! No matter what extent of knowledge anyone has about Darfur (and I find it difficult to believe that the 'Du Crew is totally in the dark), everyone involved is in their own way contributing to making those people's lives better, and isn't that really what matters, anyways??? Anyway, I am SOOOOO excited for the even and to see all of my new Xanadu friends there! Thanks again, Andrew!!! You ROCK!!!

Btw, there is a pretty amazing film being released on DVD on Tues (10/30) called "The Devil Came on Horseback" that details just what "life" is like for these people. Here is a link:
