1. Root beer is sweeter than ginger beer and more molasses/anise-y. See Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Root_beer

You can get it at larger Sainsbury/Tesco locations in a UK branding or proper American versions at places like CyberCandy.

2. Weez, I'm also a non-drinker.

3. Speaking of "I saw them in a play!" I was the one who spotted David Bedella in "Batman Begins" and went "Holy **** it's Satan!"

That made me really angry listening to that. Audience members have paid a lot of money to see Gypsy and shouldn't have to have Patti LuPone stopping the show mid song. If she were truly a professional she would have finished the song and then gone and talked to somebody about getting the person out, but instead she took things into her own hands and made it all about her. If she's so keen on looking out for cameras and videorecorders, maybe she should get of the stage and become an usher.

If I'd been in the audience when that happened, I would have been so massively pissed off. While I obviously don't condone the actions of the person who took photos, I've seen much more distracting things happen at performances and the actors invariably handle it professionally and get on with doing their job. She should maybe give up performing and take on a job as an usher if she is so bloody passionate about these things!

Weez:
"You know how you can be sitting there watching The Bill or Midsomer Murders or Poirot or Casualty, then all of a sudden one of the supporting players catches your eye, causing you to cry out "hey, I've seen him/her in a play!"?"

My mum was just catching up on Grey's Anatomy as we had lunch. I wasn't really watching it, until suddenly I caught a glimpse of someone..."Mum...isn't that Bernadette Peters?!" (to her credit, mum knew better than to bother saying "Who?")
I immediately thought of your post as well!

I'm teetotal incidentally. To be fair, my social circle will attest to the fact I seem to get drunk on orange juice, but nonetheless. You're not alone!

I've noticed way more theatre actors appearing in mainstream film/tv recently actually...maybe its me just growing up.

It's kind of strange seeing really successful or popular theatre actors in those things playing tiny parts. Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty have recently been injected with Broadway performers like Patti LuPone and Bernadette Peters in both...and in Private Practice (which stars Taye Diggs) Joel Grey put in an appearance just last week.

Come to think of it, half the cast of Spring Awakening and In The Heights have appeared on Gossip Girl...

On a slight tangent, did anyone notice Mandy from Hollyoaks in The Dark Knight?! That's pretty random.

I have a playlist on my iPod made up of performers who have been in Oz. XD Rita Moreno, BD Wong, John McMartin, Dana Ivey, Betty Buckley, Patti LuPone, Ben Vereen, Austin Pendleton, Joel Grey, and Christopher Jackson. I can only imagine the irritation my former housemate would have felt had we watched Oz together, as she seemed very angry when I was impressed at Raul Esparza turning up in Pushing Daisies for some reason... o_O

I can't work out if it's awesome spying awesome theatre people in tiny TV roles - "look! There's that guy! I love him!" - or depressingly sad - "wow... from Richard III for the RSC to Waiter in generic BBC costume drama... that sucks...".

Weez, I feel the same. Seeing someone of such talent reduced to an un-named extra, while standing next to some barely talented Hollywood actor getting worshipped by the masses, is kind of a downer.

Sam, it took me *insert the amount of times I've seen the Dark Knight* to notice where she made her appearance. At least it means she didn't stick out with the crappness, so kudos. Her accent was pretty decent as well I seem to remember...

A network pilot (even one that's not picked up) can earn a Broadway actor between 12 and 24 weeks of show wages easily.

This morning at 11 I went to a screening of the new Jennifer Anniston and Owen Wilson movie, 'Marley And Me'.
I read this book last year and it's a lovely story and a true one.
It has now been transfered to the big screen in one of the most heart breaking movies I have seen in years and years! Any animal lover, especially dogs, should be warned before seeing this movie- it will rip your heart out and bankrupt you in Kleenex. I'm a dog owner who lost one a few years back and sitting thru this this morning, well, I was crying like a girl! -I was still crying in the cafe afterwards! Totally gone I was, along with 90% of the others in the cinema!
This is a truly beautiful, heart warming story that everyone should see.
I believe its in cinemas the second week of March (13th maybe?)

It also has the gorgeous Eric Dane in it.
His scene on the beach is worth the ticket price alone!
