I remember reading her family was a bit freaked out about the outpouring before she left.
There were candles lit in front of the Poster on the Gershwin - like she had in fact died.
She is probably so very glad this year has passed.

Well... excessively weird/creepy or no... I agree that whoever did that did an excellent job. The transitions are smooth and the music is nice...
... speaking of... I'm assuming that's music from the available karaoke Wicked CD?

Wow.
I'm surprised I'm still living without her groundbreaking work in Wicked.
I am, indeed, one of the THOUSANDS of people touched by her work as a misunderstood green girl.
I will never look at green girl in the same degrading way that I used to see them before I saw Idina Menzel, and understood what it was to be green.
THANK YOU IDINA FOR MAKING ME UNDERSTAND DIVERSITY!

Parks, I knew what this thread was about before I even opened it.
I would also like to point out that because of her dramatic exit from the show, it's been one year with me at BWW

Posted: 1/10/06 at 4:01amI just watched that again and I was crying, I was laughing but I was crying. You all really have sparked my interest, I really wonder what she thought if she ever saw this. Wow, I'd be a little freked out.

*goes out singing*
She's not dead yet
she can dance and she can sing
she's not dead yet
she can still sing a scream
She's not dead yet
with her tracksuit all red
No need to call the doctor
Cause she's not yet dead.
Who is the fan that made that piece
and who needs to manage his obsession!

Gosh... I have to admit I liked that video.
But, I've always gone for the schmaltz.
I remember that performance. Vividly. I had the good fortune to be able to get a few tickets to it, and was able to bring some friends and share it with them. Hard to believe it's been a year!

Posted: 1/10/06 at 9:56amWhat was suppose to be her final performance saw Idina come out on stage in a red track suit for the closing segment of act 2 and final bow. John Tartaglia spoofed her by wearing the same kind of red track suit to his after-party, after his last performance in Avenue Q.
