I just remembered the last time I saw him in concert - as Petula Clarke's guest at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. He was singing Barry Manilow's "One Voice" and started out a cappella. After his bell note (the note he gets his start from) he continued to chat away to the audience, obviously lost the note, started on what turned out to be the wrong note and was completely out when the orchestra and backing singers joined in. He had to stop and start again and said how grateful he was that the radio recording wasn't going out live. Bless!
Oh I am looking forward to it, am sure he's going to put on a fine show, its just before hairspray I just thought of him as the guy with the dodgy hair who did eurovision.
TKTS is REALLY misleading! If you look it shows theatre price as £60, and next to it TKTS price £35, BUT it has two stars next to it which when you consult the key that means theatre price. So I believe that they are selling pull price £35 tickets at tkts (upper circle?), but showing the top price too making it look like they are half price tickets, when in fact they arnt.
I went to the Shaftesbury this morning and got my front row center tix for £25... and boy did I enjoy it! I wasn't the only teenybopper screaming for him!
I once heard someone describe her (Ruthie Henshall) singing as sounding as though she's trying to swallow a whole meatball slightly larger than her windpipe. (The same person compared Michael Ball's singing to sounding as though he's sitting on a washing machine on spin cycle and Colm Wilkinson's to a man with a paralyzed lip trying to eat cottage cheese.) --- Schmerg_The_Impaler
