Congradulations. While some of your Tony wins could have gone to other shows, Spring Awakening is still a great musical. Do not listen to the people on this board who say Spring Awakening is terrible. It's funny actually. Because I remember reading on this board how much people liked Spring Awakening. How they think Spring Awakening should win "Best Musical" with Grey Gardens coming a close second. Then I remember reading those posts saying that Grey Gardens should win but Spring Awakening is still a fantastic show. I remember when people gave credit to Spring Awakening, even though it wasn't their favorite show. So maybe they shouldn't have won "Best Choreography" or some others. Why would you hate the show for that? They didn't vote for themselves. It's not the shows fault. The Tony voters voted for Spring Awakening.

This is a message to all on this board, you do not have to love Spring Awakening. You do not have to think it's a great show. It has it's flaws, yes. We all know that. It's not a perfect show, it's far from it. There are too many posts on this board claiming that Spring Awakening doesn't deserve anything. There are too many people who claim to hate Spring Awakening now that they won some Tonys they shouldn't have. Please do not be so ignorant. Give credit where credit is do. Therefore, credit goes out to ALL Tony winners, ALL nominees and ALL those involved in the 2007 Broadway season. Congradulations.

Oh my GOD!

Enough. This is getting ridiculous.

Tobias- you want to go to a happier time, and you mention GREASE?

SondheimGeek: Is it slightly pathetic that you guys get to be Jedi bitches, and I'm Bitchy the Hutt?
LizzieCurry: No, you're more memorable

God, I was just expressing my opinion. I didn't expect it to turn into this.

Or at least confine them to one thread...

I regret writing mine. Everyone please confine them to one thread.

I wasn't just talking about your thread. I'm talking about the general idea that Spring Awakening didn't deserve anything and nobody likes the show now that it won so many Tonys.

Since when was there a general idea that it didn't deserve anything? Also, I don't think anybody came out and said "I don't like Spring Awakening because it won so many Tonys." I never got that vibe. I mean certain people may feel this way, but I must disagree that it is a "general idea". People are just expressing that it didn't deserve as much as it got. Two other equally good musicals were nominated, and they're angry because they should've won something.

This is an exact quote from a post on this board,

"PS: I totally don't like the show anymore because you won for Choreography. I know it's not your fault - I don't know what happened. You got this award you shouldn't have received and all of a sudden I hated everything about the show, even though I loved it up until then. Oh well. Guess that's the b*tch of winning. "

That's one person.

I don't hate the show...but it definitely didn't deserve nearly half of its awards. Especially for its pretentious co writer, Sater...Best Book? Please....that would be like Oklahoma! winning that award.

How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

BDavis: Wasn't that from CapnHook's post? I think it was meant to be sarcasm.

If it was, I'm sure going to feel like an idiot. Anyways, the whole point I am trying to make is there has been a lot of bashing on Spring Awakening. Spring Awakening is a great musical, as is Grey Gardens and a few other shows in this season. It is not THEIR fault they won some Tonys that should have gone to other shows.

Yeah, that was definately intended to be sarcasm. And pretty funny at that.
