York Theatre’s PENELOPE cast album now available

JAY Records are thrilled to announce the release of PENELOPE Original Off Broadway Cast (The York Theatre Company). 

Staged in 2022 to critical acclaim, PENELOPE garnered a crop of enthusiastic reviews and we look forward to this show gaining a deservedly wider audience with the energy of this cast recording. The musical is an adaptation of The Odyssey in which Penelope was the true author of the Stories of Odysseus in the form of faked letters she wrote to herself. She passed them off as correspondence from her husband, Odysseus, who was away fi ghting in the Trojan War. A beautifully modern twist on a classic tale.

Composed by Stephen Weiner with book and lyrics by Peter Kellogg, the cast features Britney Nicole Simpson (Beauty and the Beast) as Penelope, Philippe Arroyo (Aladdin) as Telemachua, Leah Hocking (Billy Elliot) as Eurycleia, Cooper Howell (Emojilasnd) as Antinous, Ben Jacoby (Beautiful) as Odysseus, David LaMarr (Jersey Boys) as Mileter, Jacob Alexander Simon (A Chorus Line) as Bassanio, George Slotin (High Button Shoes) as Haius, Sean Thompson (Sunset Boulevard) as Barius and Maria Wirries (Dear Evan Hansen) as Daphne. 

The cast recording premieres on digital from December 2nd and physical release on CD from December 9th.
