In what the paper describes as a "leaner effort", Sillerman states that "with 'Young Frankenstein,' most engagements are two to four weeks. Very few are six weeks."
Does this mean a very downsized tour? *sigh*
^^^^ I agree. First Legally Blonde downsizing, now this
In the case of Young Frankenstein, I think a downsized tour is almost inevitable. The show is massive, it'll be very interesting to see how they handle the set for the tour. Hopefully they won't downsize it too much since I imagine it'll playing a lot of larger touring houses.
Here's the actual article from Variety. It discusses several touring shows scaling back or booking shorter runs:

I'm glad that it is touring. But downsized, I don't think it will give it justice. I really enjoyed it in previews last October. But I think, to my memory, the laboratory scene was the only gigantic set piece that would be downsized. I am glad other people who can't see it on Broadway can see it on the road.
i imagine everything will look the same, maybe a few more backdrops and smaller or less physical set pieces.
