Is there anything new on the "Young Frankenstein" musical that Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan are penning, such as when it might be ready for production?

Last I heard, it was still a ways off from even the reading stage. I think they have some of the first act done, but that's about it.

I literally cannot wait for this show. Hopefully it will be as good as The Producers.

i remeber hearing that this production is still hinging on irving berlin's estate giving the ok, since mel said they won't do it without "putting on the ritz" being included.

yeah i hope it gets the ok on that, it simply wouldn't be the same without it. I just hope it'll be written soon and be up on Broadway while Mel Brooks is still alive. He's so old but he's still kicking and doing well it seems like!
