Does anyone know if there is a rush policy for ZERO HOUR?
Thanks in advance.
Telecharge does not list a rush policy. It just has the regular $55 and $35 seats.
I noticed that. But that does not mean there is no rush policy. A lot of shows have rush policies but do not list them on the ticketing site. Unfortunately, there is no phone number for the box office. And the box office doesn't open until 45 minutes prior to curtain, besides.
ZERO HOUR does not have a rush policy, however, we will be participating in the Off-Broadway Alliance's "20 At 20" promotion all of next week and will make a limited number of these $20 tickets available before curtain.
Zero Hour, a play about Zero Mostel
Thanks for the info, Steve. Much appreciated.
I'm so happy you're going to see it WBAF!
I'm trying to return for the last performance.
Over the years I have seen many one-person shows, including Robert Morse in TRU, Kathleen Turner in TALLULAH, and James Whitmore in GIVE 'EM HALL HARRY, but I have NEVER seen a show where the actor and the subject are so perfectly matched as Jim Brochu and Zero Mostel. See this show and you will be amazed.
I'll pass.
I'll pass.
> I'll pass.
I know the feeling. Sometimes there are shows that might be good, but I just don't want to see.
I'm glad people are enjoying ZERO HOUR. This is what I posted over at ATC.
Zero is now playing to capacity audiences.
That's the good news.
The bad news is that this production must close on January 31, because the Red Bull had previously booked St. Clement's. We wish them well. Dan and Kevin, and Mitties, the vicar, are lovely people to work with. They were accommodating on every level, even as I commanded their computers to upload video and do email.
We even got to raise some money for the food pantry, free vet clinic and, at the last minute, because it had just happened, Haiti.
Beyond January 31, though, I cannot say anything yet. As with any show with these great reviews and word of mouth (and ticket selling ability), I know it will continue on in some way.
St. Clement's is a very special venue. It's all wood. The stage is large. The seating is comfortable. The sight lines are magnificent, and there's no sound reinforcement.
So, it's just actor, his real voice, and an audience. Jim is a special effect all on his own in this kind of space. I brag because I'm on his team, of course.
But Zero's cousins and friends and family have sat there in tears, thanking him for bringing back this icon of the American theater. Even though you know he's not Zero, he's Zero.
And, yes, young people have really found themselves mesmerized, especially young actors and writers who want to see how much can be done with so very little.
I'm writing too much. But thanks to all of you who've enjoyed the show and told others about it.

Zero Hour, a play about Zero Mostel
I would LOVE to see this but I am not in New York.
For those who don't know, SteveShack is Jim's life-partner, as well as his extremely talented co-collaborator, and co-star of THE BIG VOICE: GOD OR MERMAN? (sorry Steve, but you've been outed). Given Jim's, shall we say 'outsized personality' I can't help but think Steve's got a book (if not a play and a movie) somewhere inside of him that's just dying to be told.
Please keep us on top of all the details of ZERO HOUR. Now what should we call ourselves: ZeroHeads? Zeroists? Zeroistas? Zerontophiles?
Saw it a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. (special thanks to Miss P, who encouraged me to go see it!)

OUTED! Well, I've never disguised my identity here. So, happy to be outed anytime, anywhere! So glad you enjoyed "God or Merman?" It closed all too soon, mostly because it was severely underfunded by a producer who meant well, but didn't raise their share of the capitalization. Good reviews only go so far. You need MARKETING!
As for my book/musical/play, so far we've written two autobiographical pieces. I suppose a trilogy might be in order. And, of course, I keep my long-running blog going.
