Kristine Nielsen has done a couple musicals throughout her career. She's not the "diva" type one would initially think of for Helen, but I have no doubt she'd be absolutely brilliant.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

well congrats to Helen Yorke on her Tony nomination! that role is bound to give her one. Helen Sinclair is a bit trickier part to play so it depends. She has to be a diva/bitch but also be likeable so you want to laugh with her.

Hesione Hushabye thinks it tastes like ashes.

One tihing is certain: whoever is cast to play Helen Sinclair is sure to be Tony nominated. So many great suggestions. I like Stockard Channing the best.
