According to IMDB, a film version of the Off-Broadway show has been completed. Apparently it stars RuPaul amongst others, but I've not been able to find any information about it at all. There is an official website of sorts, but it appears to just feature spoof posters. Anyone know anything (release dates etc)?

Wouldn't that be fantastic if it were true. I guess only time will tell!
there's a contact email at the bottom of the webpage, email and ask......
Here's a link to an article about a stage production... but at the bottom of the article it says the movie is coming out later this year. They must mean 2006. It also says it is being produced by Wes Craven and starring RU PAUL. This would be so fantastic if it were all true!
AND since it's almost halloween I also just wanted to bump a thread about Zombies!
Here's the Article
Awesome! excellent idea! I wonder if 'The Fix' would work too?
I think 'The FIX' would make a fantastic movie. I always have and everytime I listen to it I can see it as a 'movie in my mind' (oops wrong show)
It would be good, it has the feel of a very 'arthouse' sort of genre. Something low budget would work very well.

I have been trying to find more info on this. No mention at all on wes' or ru's sites, but I did read that a Patrick Kirst was scoring the movie.
* Zombie Prom, Directed by Vince Marcello, Drama/Comedy/Musical
Another ambitious production presented and co-produced by Wes Craven, starring Rupaul. Writing the underscore for Zombie Prom is an exciting and challenging adventure. Director Marcello wanted a fun score, lush in its colors with an ongoing momentum. Zombie Prom's comic book style allowed me to write big symphonic gestures that are always ridiculously overstated.
Also IMDB does not credit Dempsey and Rowe at all. ?
oh and this:
Justin(of world famous comics) recently finished production art for Zombie Prom, a 1950s horror comic book brought to life as a musical comedy film. Called "a campy, rollicking, romp through America's 'Atomic Age' and the 'Golden Age' of horror comic books" the film is based on the Off-Broadway musical comedy hit Zombie Prom and the latest work of writer/director, Vince Marcello - mentored on the project by legendary Hollywood director/producer, Wes Craven. The film debuts at the Sundance Film Festival.

MY2CENTS - I think you are my new best friend!!!
If you look under profile on his website there is a picture from the movie and more info! I tried posting it but it posts the whole webpage!
I must see this NOW!!!!!!
EDIT: This just in David Engel who is playing Eddie Flagrante says in his Bio that he shares an onscreen romance with RuPaul. So Rupaul must be playing Miss Strict! This is almost too wonderful to be true!
David's BIO
Theatrebabe, more info on the musical can be found from the link below. It's a campy fun little show set in the 1950's sending up the attitudes and characters of the time. Think Grease meets Rocky Horror...

Hello, Just wanted to let you guys know, of those of you who were interested in Zombie Prom, The Movie. I was actually in it. We filmed in the summer of 2004 in Los Angeles and surrounding cities, and I spoke to Candace Nicole, the lead in the movie, I saw her at an audition and she said that they were still working on some voice over and music things. This was only about a month ago maybe, if that. But for those of you who are interested, I can definatley keep you posted. If you guys have any other questions, let me know!

I read somewhere that the movie had to be finished by the end of september to qualify for the sundance film festival. I wonder if they made it.
