I'm trying to get a ticket for Mary Poppins on June 18th? Anybody know how to get tickets for sold-out shows in London?

You should be able to get tickets at the theatre or at a half price ticket booth on Leicester Square, on the day or the day before. If you buy from a booth (which aren't the TKTS ones) you might end up paying more even though they call themselves 'Half Price" (they're only cheap for the less popular shows). I saw MP for the second time yesterday and we got £15 and £25 tickets at the theatre on the day before. They were all single seats with "slightly restricted" view though. If they're all that is available to you, buy them because the restriction is non-existent. Beware the "severely restricted" seats for £15 as they probably aren't worth it.

The first time I saw it I got a £35 ticket on the day of performance from the 'Official Half Price Leicester Sqaure Ticket Booth' which has a red and blue sign and is near the tube entrance. And that was even during a school holiday.

The last thing you should do is buy a ticket from someone on the street because they'll be hideously expensive and probably not real. If you do a bit of walking between the theatre and Leicester Square, you should get a ticket.

Definitely try for Box Office first. If I'm not mistaken, Mary Poppins has GBP25 pit seats at 12 noon on the day of the show. I don't think TKTS Leicester Square had Poppins tickets when I was there (I'm almost 100% sure) - and please do be careful if you buy from any one of those other "Official 50% Off Booths" in Picadilly...I don't know how many of those I wandered up to before I was warned that many of them aren't legit.

The Prince Edward Theatre holds 30 tickets which are sold on the day of performance. You need to be at the box office when it opens at 10 a.m. Friends who have done this got there about 9:30 and got excellent seats. Don't know if they're sold at a reduced rate or not, but it's a good way to get a ticket.
