Nope. They've been playing to empty houses. It's been terribly embarrassing for all involved.

(Sorry. I've been dying to say this on any one of these "anyone" threads.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

that's too bad ... it had an interesting write-up in the NYT recently -- more about ptocess, etc; not a review yet.

it opens on the 7th; i hope things go better for them.

thx for the info.

You do realize I was joking, right?

(Actually, I've heard some good things.)

no! that was not obvious to me at all -- either you were unusually subtle or i was unusually dense.

(not that they're mutually exclusive ... :))

besides, you usually see things early in the run, so i figured you were just reporting back as always.

all that said, i'm relieved to hear it's doing okay.

Saw it tonight, house was pretty full. The play is pretty amazing, and really really funny and somewhat touching, its only open another week and I totally recommend it. Would not be surprised to see the Pulitzer committee nominate this next year.

yeah, I saw it a bit before it opened. I don't know what I was expecting, but I really enjoyed it a lot! It tells a really interesting and human story that's quite entertaining.

Out of the four shows that NYTW said they were presenting this year, this was the one show that sounded the least interesting. What got me through the door was that Arian Moayed was in the cast, glad I went was pleasantly surprised.
