My friend got there at 5 something am and was 100 and something. I am just curious to hear what happened there. Was anyone on this board seen?? Break legs :)
I was seen at about 9:45 this morning. They started auditions at roughly 9:00, an hour before it was advertised to begin. People were brought in groups of ten into the building, asked to fill out a form, then brought up in that group of ten into the elevator. After that, the group was divided into four lines for the four studios the Wicked auditions were occupying. There wasn't really any time to fix yourselves, put on makeup, or get dressed. You had to take care of that before you got in the building. They even blocked off the bathrooms! The auditions were a cappella, although there was an accompanist who had just arrived when I was about to audition. I think they were holding on the spot callbacks since a girl I was standing near was asked to sing "Popular" in a different studio. This is possibly what the accompanist was for.

O, and the unofficial list was not honored and they just took people in as they were lined up.

I did fine, thanks. Much better than I thought I would do, considering there was absolutely no way to warm up since you basically had to sing the moment you entered the building after waiting outside in almost-rainy weather for hours. But yeah, I actually made the person in the room look up from his desk while I sang, and he complimented afterward, so I guess it was a good thing. I'm not expecting anything at all to come from this cattle call, but you never know.

I arrived at about 6 and was #19 - so I don't know what happened to your friend Amneris. It was a shame they didn't honor the unofficial list - good thing I stated put!
I had a couple of nice people hold up my blanket so I could slip on my dress. Telsey + Co is always so nice to audition for, but the no bathroom thing sucked!
I was out before 10. I headed right over to Lion King and was done there by 12:45. Now I'm at a bar with my hubby and his friend before we go see a show. It's a surprise for my birthday, today!
What a long crazy but fun day!
Aw, thanks Paul. :)

They're actively looking for a Glinda for the Second National tour right now so that's why they typed possible Glindas into one room. They had an accompanist, whereas everyone else had to go at it acapella.

Makes sense. Guess their normal pool of rehashed Wicked cast members is dwindling.
Thanks, Love. That makes sense.

Three of my friends were there. Two are totally Elphaba and one of them fits Glinda to a T. IDK how it went.
Most of the people there were "totally [something]" or "fit [someone] to a T." There were many people at the call. :)

the only thing I fit in wicked to a T is one of the giant bobble heads during "one short day"

Hey!! I don't care.
Haha, I'm just saying there were so many people there and most people fit into some role in Wicked as the characters are very archetypal and easy to fit into. Like for the men, you're either the tall leading man (Fiyero) or the short character actor (Boq). Too bad for me; there were many short guys there at the call. :P

You look a lot like John Tartaglia to me.

Yup, everyone at that open call could be someone in the show. Anyway, I got there about 20 minutes of 8:00am and was #227. It was my first open call as I've only been in the city 2 months now. I had to work at 12:30pm so I just decided to wait and hope to get seen before work because I didn't know how long it would take but to my pleasant surprise I was lining up to leave at 10:05am....the time I thought auditions were suppose to start (roughly) so that was exciting. I'm not expecting anything really but it was a good experience:)
Haha, B3TA07. I'm just 100% more Asian than John Tartaglia. I've had the same avatar since I joined, by the way.

Has anyone gotten called back?

Sometimes those massive calls are obnoxious; more often than not, it's a required call and they're not even looking to cast. I do know a few people who went, despite the fact that they were looking for Elphaba, Glinda, Fieryo, and Boq. I didn't go because I'm definitely not a Fieryo and I'm two inches too tall for Boq. So, I didn't want to deal with the masses.
