re: attention west end

hi there

we have run through with them about 4 times(they have mainly been working with the choreographer alone)but from what i saw they are doing a great job. Both are nervous as to be expected but i dont think they have any need to be there doing great. The hardest dance there finding is the line dance(all the cast in a row doing line dancing whilst linked to eat each other, the dance gets faster and faster untill it looks like we are going at 100 miles per hour hehe)but i think they will be fine on the night.
Footloose has some very hard choreography (and im a dancer)but they have done so well with it.
fingers crossed

re: attention west end

well they got through there first night and what a night it was.The 2 were scared to death before they went on and we all tried to help calm there nerves but once the curtain went up they were no stopping them. They did a fantastic job and all the cast are so proud of them and look forward to the rest of the week with them.
In my opinion if they can handle the choreography in footloose we will be seeing more of them on the west end stage soon.

As i hinted earlier when footloose ends its run at the novello it is going to move to a new home(and thats def)even though they are only saying they are looking in to it.We got told last night that we WILL def stay open

well done to all my freinds at footloose ,we came ,we saw,we got drunk A LOT hehehe

Which other theatre is about to become free around then?!?!?!

re: attention west end

I would guess either The Shaftesbury and Daddy Cool wont open, or Piccadily and Guys and dolls closes a little earlier than planned? I cant think of another musical house that is likely to be available, unless it goes to a playhouse.

re: attention west end

lets just say it aint looking good for daddy cool

re: attention west end

Perhaps Footloose could be the show to finally break the infamous Shaftesbury curse?
#12

re: attention west end

Although Footloose isnt my personal favourite, its a good fun show and would do well for the Shaftsbury. I hope this spells the end of jukebox shows an dthe end of the Shaftsbury curse!

PS - any clue as to which one you are re: attention west end
#13

re: attention west end

How long now has the Shaftesbury Curse been running - or ruining shows?!

Its almost as long as I can remember. Flop after flop.

There are so many shows that have closed there trying to remember further back than Peggy Sue Got Married is tough when you get to my age!

Am I right in thinking the ceiling once came down on the audience during a performance of Hair? So may be it could be as long as 30 years!

re: attention west end

WOW thanks for that guys none of the cast new about the so called curse now we are all praying that one of the other venus they are looking in to becomes free hehe.
I think footloose could be ok in there after all the show is established now and getting great audiences so maybee we will break the curse(or our legs haha)

PS im not the sailor thats the only clue you are gonna get(i could get shot for telling u info im not supposed to grrrrrrrr)

lol

re: attention west end

PS NS

I hope you are not refering to Footloose as a jukebox musical or i will have to beat you with a stick(hehehe)
The songs in footloose all featured in the film footloose and the ones that diddnt have been written for the stage version so this def doesnt fall under the jukebox musical tag xx

footloose(from the film )
On Any Sunday(written for the show)
The Girl Gets Around(written for the show and also in the film with dif lyrics etc)
I Cant Stand Stll (written for the show)
Somebodys Eyes(in the film and re written for the show)
Learning to be Silent(written for the show)
Holdin Out For A Hero(from the film)
Im Free /Heaven Help Me(from the film and re written for the show)
Lets Here It For The Boy(from the film)
Can You Find It In Your Heart(written for the show)
Mama Says(written for the show)
Almost Paradise(music from the film re written for show)
Dancing is not a Crime(written for the show)

re: attention west end

now westendartist would I dare suggest that- especially as if your one of those guys in the pic you could have me easy! lol

And as there is no sailor in that pic its not very helpful!! lol well your bf is very lucky guy whichever one you are!

No I wouldnt say footloose is a jukebox show, although it appeals to similar market in my opinion. Sorry to say still prefer Mamma Mia (only jukebox show I do like) but footloose is fun - the title song is SO catchy.

The Shaftesbury just has flop after flop, but I think you guys could be the one to break the curse. Mind you youll be in Dirty Dancing by the time it moves! re: attention west end

Maybe I should get myself to the Novello and see Footloose, only saw the 1st uk tour.

re: attention west end

re: attention west end

PS NS Thats very nice of you to say but its not my fella thats lucky its me!!!!

I hope we can break the curse if we go in there i think footloose has a place in the west end i really do.
