avenue q

as an english music student, can anyone offer me a description of why Avenue Q has been so succesful with critics and audiences and how it differs from anything else playing at the moment? thanks!

re: avenue q

I'm not doing your paper for you, LOL. I think because its characters "say" whatever everyone else is really thinking. Like here's one (at the risk of being politically incorrect). "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" is essentially true...to a degree. But who would ever admit to that? Besides guests on the Jerry Springer Show. It's funny because it's being said by puppets. If it weren't in that context, it probably wouldn't be as funny. But it's a whimsical show with catchy tunes and a great cast (one of whom I'd like to handcuff to my bed because he's so gorgeous...oops! was that out loud?).

re: avenue q

lets face it, Q is an in your delightful, innovative, and sometimes politically incorrect, musical that uses the puppets to give a lot of heart to mirror the experience of living in new york city.
