Ok...I'm not sure if the sold out run at ATA was Off-Broadway, but it will return to an Off-Broadway venue (Dodgers Stages) this September.

That's good, AG, the rest of us need you to answer our questions.
I'm a Renthead myself and I correct the littlist thing... someone thought we were still on the Benny tour the other day. Wow.

Hmmm, I've never heard that. I heard it was recieved very well, and that it was indeed sold out. I for one think that the show is very good, hardly any flaws from the music I've heard. They're still in the reworking process of course.

Yup, it is a story about Seniors at a Catholic boarding school.

I do what I can.

Posted: 8/12/04 at 2:19pmI want to see it! I went to a Catholic school. I mean, its probably nothing like my life... considering it was an elementary school and it wasn't a boarding school. But whatever, I heard some of the music and stuff sooo I am officially a BARE fan! :)

The thing about the ATA run (Off-Off-Broadway) was, Bare wasn't really selling out in the beginning, but towards the end it became harder and harder to get tickets because people were spreading the word about it. The last couple of shows (in May) were indeed sold out; I tried to get tickets but it was impossible. Now that there are Bare fan clubs, fan sites and a VERY devoted Bare following
, there's no doubt it will be a lot harder to get tickets to the new Off-Broadway run at Dodger.

The pic with the two guys from BARE remind me of William Shakespeare's R&J...four guys read, and then perform Romeo and Juliet, with the two guys kissing. I heard it was fabulous, but most of the audience was extremely disappointed. One man said that if he wanted to watch trash he'd turn on the TV.
Oh well.

Posted: 8/12/04 at 4:48pmIronic that you say that, BARE has many connections to Romeo and Juliet. In the show, the high school puts on a performance of "Romeo and Juliet" and the main characters are all principles. There is a song called "Pilgrim's Hands" (they sing the Pilgrim's Hands scene from R&J) in which the girl who plays Juliet is absent, and Jason (who plays Romeo) ends up reading with his secret lover Peter (who plays Mercutio, but knows the lines and has taken over for rehearsal purposes) The fellow students see the connection they have during that reading.
