i don't recall reading any stories from the bc/efa flea market that took place a few weeks ago. did anyone find anything fun?
i got the one thing i really really wanted: the handwritten and signed copy of "gimme gimme" from TMM. i was also able to get some other neat stuff from the tables: a playbill from H2$ when matthew and megan were in it for $1, the urinetown poster from the show about the fee hike and some other stuff.
the celeb table was fun but BUSY, for some reason jeff mccarthy was only up there for 5 mins then just left (?). kate burton was there and i was shocked that she actually remembered me from when i met her about a year ago (we had a chat about a play she saw i was reading) so that was surprising but nice. rebecca luker was also VERY nice, we talked about the music man and laura benanti. one thing she said they had very different personalities...i can only imagine what she really meant (j/k).
so...anyone else?

I guess my Flea Market story centers on Nathan Lane. You know I'd been bashing him since he mentioned me during an interview at Seth's Chatterbox. Please note that my bashing was only a way of getting his attention since I now knew he lurked the message boards. In a sense, my faux-bashing worked because I did receive an e-mail from Nathan asking me to stop. And I DID stop.

Anyhow, I paid to have my picture taken with Nathan and as I approached the little stage they'd set up for the photo shoots, I started to unbutton my shirt. Nathan looked warily at me, but I was only doing so to reveal the Carol Channing t-shirt I was wearing underneath. He sort of fliched when he saw the shirt and at that point I told him I was "Dollypop". His only comment was, "I'm scared, I'm very scared!"

Later on that day, my friend and I saw the matinee performance of TRUMBO that Nathan was starring in that week (he was excellent in it!) and we waited at the stage door afterwards. When he noticed me he uttered in despair, "Oh no, not you again!"

I think he loves me!

"did anyone find anything fun?"
The whole flea market itself was fun!! Because I'm a Phantom fanatic... I got a Michael Crawford/Phantom magazine, a autographed poster, beads from the orginal Chandilier, bunches of playbills and lots of other stuff that I can't think of right now! lol

I also got to see the matinee show of "Cabaret". I made a post about this last month but anyway I got front row seats or actually one of the tables in front of the stage. The show was great. ah Jon Secada isn't my pick of an Emcee but I'll be seeing the show later on this month again so I'm excited about that!! =-)

Nathan is a ver talented person.
Looking back I have seen him in two great shows.
Guys and Dolls
Funny Thing Happened...

And of course, he made Mousehunt very enjoyable to watch on DVD and as always, The Birdcage was hysterical.

I bought a nifty vintage 'bee-hive' Osterizer! Works, too. The Flea Market got VERY crowded VERY early and by 11 you could barely walk, there were so many people attending. Chatted briefly with John Tracey Egan at THE PRODUCERS table and John Tartaglia at the AVENUE Q table, which had the cleverest stuff, including an activity-coloring book.

Debated doing the celebrity table thing (In theory I guess it would have been fun, but I'm very shy and tongue-tied in front of my favorite Broadway stars and am likely to embarass myself), but decided to join Barry for a merry misosa-filled brunch nearby instead.

I spent the first half of the day doin getting pictuse with people I spent $50 to have my pic taken with Kerry, Hunter, Harvye Firesten,Nathan Lane, and one of the people on the soap my mom watches. I would have spent more there but I had to walk away befroe the rest of the Hairspray people came out I Because I wanted moey left over to actually buy things and my mom would have killed me if I cam home with another picture with Matthwe Morison. hehe Every time I meet him I get on I can't help it he's my Elvis, or Justin Timberlake member depending on the generation your in.

Anyway after the pictures I bought a HAIRSPRAY Key Chain, eventered to win tickets to any show I saw, and did that blue tickets things a few times. I got a bummber sticker that says Theater...It's magic. I love it. But the think I got that I like the most is my Red Riben with the Broadway cares ...Fighets ADIS pin I have worn it every day since.

Well I have to go I'm in class right now. I should be writing a paper oh well. Bway is better.

Yes, gentle readers, Nathan Lane not only lurks on this message board, but he posts messages at well. I don't think it would be proper for me to reveal the name he uses. However, he hasn't posted a message here in a while.

I also know that Patrick Wilson and Patti LuPone frequently lurk here.

I didn't buy as much as I thought I would...just some stuff from Phantom...the beads, signed slippers, and a pretty print with the skyline at night and the mask floating in the sky. I really wanted the doll from Aida (signed by Simone)...forgot to go back for it!

Delta Burke chewed my ear off! Haha...I got on line because I always thought she was funny and figured it would be funny and random to have a picture with her on my fridge. She complimented my crucifix that I wear and asked if I was Irish. I told her no, just obsessed with the Irish culture. She asked me what I was, and I told her Italian, she said she figured because "you have all that curly hair." I told her Millie was my favorite show, and she went on and on about how much she loves it and how it's about dreams coming true, etc. She told me I was lovely and asked if I was an actress, and when I told her that I was a writer, she went, "That counts!!!!!" The photographer then told her to stop talking because she had a line :)

Matthew Morrison practically asked me out...well...he asked me my name and when I told him he went, "Anna?" and I said, "No, Diana." and he said, "Hi, I'm Matt..." but there was definite lust in his eyes, I tell 'ya (j/k)

I told Patrick Page about the site when I met him after Lion King. He said he would check it out.

Well,
I got a bunch of old playbill's to add to my collection and some props from Phantom. The highlight of my morning was when I was at the Rosie Table and she came walking up and I finally got to meet her!!! I had watched her show since I was 12 and never missed an episode and she was a huge inspiration to me growing up:) It was quite a moment for me.

"Is she as nice as she seems to be on TV?"

She was nice...but not as nice as she seemed on her show. But she *was* nice. She signed stuff for fans, but you had to give a donation, and it wasn't for bc/efa, it was for rosie's charity.
i actually had kind of a funny moment with her, i bought one of the baseball caps that they were selling from her show and she only had a black marker and she said "I don't think this will really show up on this." and I pulled a silver marker I had brought to the flea market out of my pocket and said she could use that and she seemed kind of surprised and said "Wow, you sure are prepared, Cori (my name) and you know what? I think that will serve you very well in life." I just think that was funny for some reason.

Well, Rosie HAS had a lot on her mind lately. Good for her she was out there working the crowd.
