I am planning on going to Broadway Bares with a very short friend. Since we were going to do standing room, is this going to be a problem for my friend? (Think Oompa Loompa short) Or if we just get there early, will it not be a problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I can't answer that, but ... what an odd question. I hope someone can help you.

Big shoes?
I say, get there early, it gets crowded and people push...your friend will be no match for theatre queens wanted to see all the, well you know!
Well, I can't speak for Broadway Bares, but I went to Stars in the Alley and I'm 5'0". Thank God I got there decently early, I was in like the third line of people standing and even then only saw between people's heads. Two or three rows back and I wouldn't have seen anything. I get your best bet is to get there as early as possible. But for the record, I really think they should have a separate midget-like area for people like us.
And OMG, one of my friends from HS's nickname for me was Oompa Loompa!
I'm 5'5....and I always have a heard time seeing past people.
People can be really rude and insensitive.

you mean like calling short people oompa loompa short?
oompa loompa short? You are to funny.
Is it wrong this thread made me burst out laughing? HAHA
Chinkie, me too!
Oompa, Loompa....hehe, I can't wait to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
Theatre_Titan, maybe you could put Corine on your shoulders. Or perhaps she has a press pass that will let you get VIP treatment. Have you asked her?
Actually Chita, I kinda liked being called oompa loompa. Other short people were called by my same friend lawn gnome, elg, midget and Thumbelina, I liked being Oompa Loompa best especially since he was in Drama class with me so I improved I was an oompa loompa alot. I loove that movie!
I'm 4'11 and proud! Don't call me an Oompa Loompa, even though that comment actually made me laugh hysterically.

someone said that was comment "oompa loompa short" was offensive but I'm freaking barely 5'0 tall and it didn't offend me. Give me a break. Laugh a little.

Well of course, I forgot! Your sensiblity is the standard. If it doesn't offend you than it must not be offensive. Got it.
I had not received the memo. But now I'm on board. Carry on.

Adam-Chris....we're the same height..I hear your pain.
Your friend will not be able to see. I am 6'3" and I had an obstructed view half the time during the first time I went. That is why I go for the VIP seating now. Believe me it is worth the extra $$$.
I can't tell you how many time I've been standing watching something a parade, a show or whatever and a tall person will walk right in front of me and stand! I've been like "!". "Excuse me, sir!" And they actually have the look of surprise that I would say something.
Oh well, what can you do?
I do have a sence of humor about my height but it does irritate me when people are being insensitive.
(Actually, when I dream....I'm the same size as everyone else. Crazy, huh?)
I'm happy to know that I'm not the only short person out there. This thread made me smile. "Oompa loompa short..."I love you people. Elyse. No day but today.
