Posted: 6/9/05 at 9:51pmI am planning on going to Broadway Bares with a very short friend. Since we were going to do standing room, is this going to be a problem for my friend? (Think Oompa Loompa short) Or if we just get there early, will it not be a problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I can't speak for Broadway Bares, but I went to Stars in the Alley and I'm 5'0". Thank God I got there decently early, I was in like the third line of people standing and even then only saw between people's heads. Two or three rows back and I wouldn't have seen anything. I get your best bet is to get there as early as possible. But for the record, I really think they should have a separate midget-like area for people like us.
And OMG, one of my friends from HS's nickname for me was Oompa Loompa!

People can be really rude and insensitive.

Other short people were called by my same friend lawn gnome, elg, midget and Thumbelina, I liked being Oompa Loompa best especially since he was in Drama class with me so I improved I was an oompa loompa alot. I loove that movie!

Well of course, I forgot! Your sensiblity is the standard. If it doesn't offend you than it must not be offensive. Got it.
I had not received the memo. But now I'm on board. Carry on.

Posted: 6/17/05 at 4:16pmYour friend will not be able to see. I am 6'3" and I had an obstructed view half the time during the first time I went. That is why I go for the VIP seating now. Believe me it is worth the extra $$$.

I can't tell you how many time I've been standing watching something a parade, a show or whatever and a tall person will walk right in front of me and stand! I've been like "!". "Excuse me, sir!" And they actually have the look of surprise that I would say something.
Oh well, what can you do?
I do have a sence of humor about my height but it does irritate me when people are being insensitive.
(Actually, when I dream....I'm the same size as everyone else. Crazy, huh?)

Posted: 6/17/05 at 6:17pmI'm happy to know that I'm not the only short person out there. This thread made me smile. "Oompa loompa short..."I love you people. Elyse. No day but today.
