broadwaycon 2018

I am a tremendous fan of BroadwayCon. I was at both BroadwayCon 2016 and 2017 and fully intend to attend 2018. However, I am not happy about the new ticket options. Last year, my daughter and I purchased Gold Passes and I had intended on doing the same this year. With the current ticket options, it would cost $1000 to get basically what I paid $600 for last year. While the price is lowered now ($395) for a Gold Pass, that pass perks do not warrant an upgrade from the basic ticket option of $195. Priority access and reserved seating to the Mainstage was the main reason I purchased the Gold Pass. Now that is only available with the Platinum pass for $1000. I wrote to BroadwayCon to express my discontent. If you feel as I do, I encourage you do the sam

I've never attended Broadwaycon but during the 2 years you attended, did you feel there were too many Gold pass ticketholders who had priority seating/reserved access? Just a thought that perhaps that's why the organizers limited that privilege to platinum pass ticketholders for 2018.

But, now regular weekend pass holders aren't guaranteed seating to the main stage events. Basically they turned people who are there all weekend into what the day pass holders are. No offense to anyone at all. And the rear seating for main stage were awful this past year. So, I might not want to spend an extra $200 for that again.

I didn't think that there were too many Gold Pass holders. What makes me upset is that it will now cost $1000 to get what I paid $600 for last year.

I was in line at BroadwayCon this year when I heard several Gold Pass holders express their desire to have a Platinum Pass with assigned seating. They expressed this need to one member of the organizing team and I believe that is why we have this option now. While it's not assigned seating, it's the closest thing to it.

I believe there were 500 Gold Passes this year. I don't see them reaching that level next year. The benefits of the Gold Pass ($395) isn't significant enough to warrant the upgrade from the basic $195 option. And even at $1000 a piece, I think the Platinum Passes will sell out. There will be 30 takers for those.
