...and to non-theater people Joanna Gleason will just be a face that looks familiar from a couple of dish soap commercials. BUT, I can see DRS outlasting Spamalot, however long that runs.
Ok, I am putting it in writing right now. If Jack Black takes over the role of Freddy, I will be there his first performance (and maybe even his second as well). Man, would I love that.
Finally saw Jonathan Pyrce tonight, my first since John's last. With the proper casting (Pyrce is an excellent pick!), this show can definitely have a nice run.
Jonathan Pryce is NOWHERE NEAR as famous as John Lithgow.... AT ALL.... originating a role in a big broadway show does not equate to 7 years on a hit sitcom. Sorry.
Maybe it's because I'm older, but...Jonathan Pryce has done a hell of a lot more than just "originating a role in a big broadway show". He's won two Tonys and has a film resume longer than my right arm. Maybe he's not such a big deal anymore, but he definitely WAS a household name.
I think that DRS really does have the potential to run for a long time...it is witty and they always rework lines and scenes to make it as funny and fresh as possible. It really all depends on who they cast as Freddy once Norbert leaves, because Freddy really does carry the show.

Count me in for that as well, he would freaking rock in the role! Sadly I think the chances of this happening are slim to none, but damn!
